Fixing fuse holder for cigarette lighter

I bought new fuses (30 amp) for my cigarette lighter but then i noticed im missing one side of the fuse holder (the plase where you put the fuse, it has the holder on the one side but missing on the other) So how could i get the other side (i think its plus not minus) of the fuse holder?

SOURCE: fuse location for cigarette lighter

Look at the fuse layout for one that looks like + ---> -; that's the one for the cigarette lighter. On my 535 it's fuse # 87, a 20 amp fuse.

SOURCE: cigarette lighter doesn't work. Need to know where

If the cigarette lighter does not stick when you push the lighter in then this is the step to take. The prongs inside the lighter adapter have been pushed too far out. ( This happens if you plug other electronics like satellite radio or radar detectors) First, you MUST take out the fuse from the fuse box located under in the glove box. Second, look inside the lighter adapter (not the lighter) you will see two prongs that are supposed to be flared a bit inward. Simply get a small flat head screwdriver and pick the prongs outward but not too much. Do test trials with the lighter to ensure the lighter sticks. Plug the fuse back in and your lighter will be good as new. -Pete

2000 Toyota Celica GT cigarette lighter fuse is not blown but cigarette lighter still does not work. No power to that fuse in the fuse box.

There is another fuse wire in connecting side of holder itself. it is "C" like wire 3 to 4 mm length. Just behind the fuse holder.

Cigarette lighter fuse 1993 roadmaster?

if you not sure , always err on the side of caution , fit a lowish rated fuse for this usage ( 25/30 amp), if it blows , gradually uprate , and carry spares, 3_30_2012_5_33_27_pm.jpg

My side light fuse keeps blowing on my 2002 clio. When this happens speado light goes off. Any ideas of how to fix?

Not really but i would check the bulb holders first ,rear light make sure its the right bulb ,look inside the bulb holder at the contacts ,one or two ?? check it out you would be surprised how many people fit the wrong bulb ,then if ok check the front light its a c?pless bulb and again the tiny contacts get bent and short it out .

The lift gate will not open with the release switch on the lift gate

I'm hoping you found an answer to this already, but if not, here it is. Try looking at fuse # 16 in the fuse panel under the driver side dash. It should be a blue 15 Amp fuse & it controls the cigarette lighter & lift gate, amongst other things. My guess is that you will find it has popped & needs to be replaced. It's an easy job to do if you have a fuse holder or a pair of needle nose pliers. Out with the old, in with the new. IMHO, this is a poor deign by Lincoln in the fact that the change holder is right next to the cigarette lighter & if you happen to drop a penny or dime into the lighter/outlet, it pops the fuse. This can be a common problem if you don't keep the lighter in there, & use the outlet for cell phone charger, ipod, etc. This has happened to me a couple times, so I bought a small box of fuses & keep them in the glove compartment now, just in case it should happen while I'm out & about somewhere. Hope this helps!...//TJ
