CCW , and your going to at least put the new timing belt on and balance to check for compression. you can run an engine without the covers installed or accessories hooked up

Remove serpentine belt, to remove bolt turn counter clock wise, you will also need a Harmonic Balancer pulley tool, most auto part places will rent this tool out, good luck, hope this was very helpful.

Hi,Try some pb-blaster bolt remover(you can get it at any automotive parts store,auto-zone and will have to sit awhile) but if it will still not break loose you will have to either use a impact wrench or heat it up with a plumbers propane bottle torch and remove it that way...good luck

The bolt is usually toqued to 150 foot pounds, or in the realm of 200 newton meters. torque and turns opposite engine rotation In your case counter clockwise (unless Toyota put an engine in that rotated counter clockwise- in which case the bolt would come off in a clockwise direction) If you do not have an impact wrench available, with care, locate a breaker bar on the frame rail of the truck with the socket engaged on the bolt and fully seated- bump the starter and it should loosen the bolt. You want to use great care as the wrench may pop off the bolt head with great force. This is why you want to locate the breaker bar carefully, so if it does fly off, damage to tool or truck will be minimal. In short- stand back and keep people away when you do this.
Once loose, remove the bolt and depending what type of puller you have- one that engages the threaded holes on the inner web of the balancer is best, you m ay need to install the bolt without washer to give the puller something to push against. An external jaw type is not going to do anything other than pull the outer ring off the web.
