I just purchased a brand new battery and put a used alternator and about 130 miles after I put those on the battery light came out and sometimes the check engine light. Then when I was at a red light and pressed the gas to go it took off slowly and once it took off it ran good. Then when I parked it sounded like I was pressing the gas because it idled high then went to normal and when I put in in REVERSE it sounded like someone slammed me from behind . What could that be? Why would the battery die out? I had to get it recharged. Once I put the battery on, it worked just fine and no hesitation or problems. The car does not knock or make any noise when it's on and has about 122,000 miles. I just hope it's something minor. Could it be a solenoid? an electrical issue? I don't know I'm clueless.
Re-test your charging system...a used alternator is just that...depending upon how worn it was when you bought it, it can fail at any time. Also make sure all your connections to ground and hot wires are clean and secure. Your engine control systems operate by reading small changes in current from various sensors if voltage going to the system is low, it throws the entire system off and can cause odd problems.
