Column shift tilt wheel:

Ciera '89, '90
Buick Century '89, '90
Chevrolet Celebrity '89, '90
Pontiac 6000 '89, '98

Column shift w/o tilt

Olds Ciera '89, '90
Buick Century '89, '90
Chevrolet Celebrity '89, '90
Pontiac 6000 '89, '90

Floor shift...same options. Tilt and/or no tilt is a matter of preference as the wiring harness is the same, so either will work. Floor shift is floor shift only,'89 and '90 Ciera, Century, Celebrity, 6000.

Hope this helped.

Need a diagram to put together a 1989 caddilac eldorado power steering, tilt and telescope steering wheel and column.

Excellent tutorial here that helped me when I had a loose steering wheel on my 1988 Deville.

This one is not from an 89 Eldorado, but all GM Tilt/telescoping steering columns from that time are virtually identical:

Need to remove steering column frrom a 92 Camaro, and don't know where to start.

We did the same on a '89 model so it should be similar. The column is not very heavy but as you are unbolting it you will want to find a way to support the column at the steering wheel end. Disconnect the negative battery cable before starting and if there is a steering wheel airbag you should have that disabled before starting the removal process.

Start by unbolting the column from the steering box, if you are reinstalling the same column mark the column and the shaft/plate of the steering box with chalk so that you can easily reinstall it in the same place. The column has two supports inside the car, you will need to remove the lower dash trim pieces and possibly part of the instrument panel. Release all of the column wiring connectors, most of which are also clipped to the column in some fashion. The first support is at the floor, pull back the carpeting and you will see the support plate, ours had studs rather than bolts so we removed the corresponding fasteners from under the hood. The second support is under the dash near the lower edge and is simply unbolted. At this point the column should be completely loose, the next issue is getting it out. You may find some interference with the brake and or clutch pedals. Slide the driver seat back as far as possible, if the seat reclines that would be helpful. Hopefully you will now have enough room to pull the column straight back and out. The assistance of a helper would be useful at this point too. As mentioned before, the column is not heavy but it can be cumbersome to get it out of the car. Installation is just the reverse. Let me know if this helps you out or not.

How do you remove or drop down the tilt steering column on a 1989 F250 4x4 7.3 diesel? I'm trying to replace the clutch and brake peddle support pivot bracket that is broken. I've gotten the bracket...

this is for 1996, don't have 89.
these may be steps you need

  1. Remove pinch bolt from steering shaft flex coupling.
  1. Disconnect shift cable from selector lever pivot.
  1. Remove shift cable from steering column lower mounting bracket by pushing tab on cable in and sliding cable off bracket.
  1. Disconnect ignition switch (11572) by loosening bolt and removing connector. The bolt is part of connector and can not be removed.
  1. While supporting steering column, remove four retaining nuts.
  1. Disconnect collapsible intermediate shaft from U-joint at lower end of steering column.
  1. Remove steering column from vehicle.
