Is their a automatic trans filter in a 1997 honda crv and if so how do you replace

According to this parts website 1997 Honda CRV Automatic Transmission Filter this filter is internal to the transmission and requires removal and disassembly of the transmission.

2006 Honda element transmission banging in first when coming to a stop . Auto trans runs out very well

Not good

You could have a trans shop road test

They will tell you it has to be rebuilt, which in a
year or so it will.

I would get several opinions but wouldn't pull the
unit just yet

How do you check trans fuild on honda passport 2001

Sorry to tell you this, but there is no dipstick. Honda says this in its maintenance materials:
Check automatic transmission fluid level only if leakage is suspected.
Automatic transmission has no dipstick, so fluid level can only be
measured by checking fluid temperature with a PGM Tester and removing
the overfill screw. Refer to the Service Manual for details.

How do I check automatic trans fluid in a 1997 Honda Civic? In the past I've always check fluid with the car idleing in park at normal operating temperature. But the Honda dealer is telling me to check it...

That's because you don't understand how a Honda trans works. Think of it as an automatic manual trans, that is Honda's trans are the only one's where all the gears are constantly meshed. When a Honda trans shifts, it engages that specific gear. All the gears are meshed, a Honda trans engages a clutch pack which gives power through that specific meshed gear, just as you would if you were shifting a manual trans. Now since all the gears are constanly meshed, they are inmersed in trans fluid, If you check it while it is running, It will show less, plus the fact on some Honda models the gears are right next to the dip stick and if your not careful, the dip stick can get pulled into the gears and destroy the trans.

Honda 2004 transmission gear box

Hi sounds like a problem I was starting to have in my 04 Accord. It would shutter terribly between gears. We had changed trans. fluid every 60k miles but evidently that wasn't good enough. I was shopping for a trans when I talked to my mechanic and he recommended new fluid. We drained and refilled trans twice and now drain and refill trans pan every other oil change ( about 20k w/ synthetic). After the fluid change trans. is doin great. Don't run and go pay for a trans flush at a local shop. I worked at a very highend dealership as a service writer and trust me it is a rip. In your honda you have drain plug just drain and refill, then run, repeat. It will do the same thing just takes a little longer. I have 190k on "The 04" now and it just won't quit! Honda's Rock!

How to remove tranny filter from a 1992 acure legend automatic tr

I have good news and bad news.....good news acura does not use a common trans pan.the transaxle does have a brass filtering element inside the trans between the cases and acura never recommends replacement untill the trans is overhauled .bad news you propably did some unecessary work so far.just remove the drain bolt on the side of the case and refill at the dip stick approx 3 qts, check your handbook for EXACT fluid and amount. Just want to know how much oil going in the tranny of a honda accord 1992 automatic

The automatic trans on your 1992 Honda Accord holds a total of 6.4 quarts, and 2.5 quarts on a filter replacement, so the torque converter and the rest of the trans retains about 4 quarts.

AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION GEAR SYSTEM PROBLEM

Yes,that code is a transmission code, pressure control solenoid A.On a Honda trans, there are two solenoids that control line pressure inside the trans. The two of them are made together into one assembly that Honda calls "Linear Solenoids".Most likely they are defective and need replacing, but require testing. They are mounted on the outside of the trans case,so the problem can be repaired without removing the transmission from the car.The actual diagnostic route for that trouble code involves ohms checking the wires from the vehicle computer to the solenoids.Ohms checking the solenoids, amps chekcing the solenoids, and then installing a line pressure gauge on the transmission to test the solenoids mechanically.I rebuild Honda and Acura transmissions on a regular basis, and solenoid failure is not out of the ordinary.Good luck.
