2004 sebring air conditioner stops and starts

Low freon will cause the compressor to short cycle, when the compressor runs the pressure in the low line is pulled down and the low pressure switch turns it off. Not running the pressure builds up and turns it back on. In the old days there was no low pressure switch, with no freon to carry the oil the compressor was destroyed.

Oil leak around air conditioned compressor

The air conditioner system has oil that flows through it when it is on. This means that the seals in the compressor are bad. This is going to be expensive to repair.

To replace the condense of A5 VW Golf 4 cylinder air conditioner and change oil in pump

To change the condensor undo the lines and mounts and remove.Replacing is opposite proceedure. Replace the air dryer/ receiver at the same time. There should be no need to change the compressor oil as it moves trhrough the system with the gas and there is no sump as such.

Engine stops on lexus rx350 when air conditioner on

Sounds like the compressor is seized up.This is due to high mileage or no/low oil and/or refrigerant in the system. If you want a temporary solution, you could disconnect the clutch by unplugging the connector(two wire connector closest to the pulley). This will allow you to use the dash vents until you get the A/C fixed.

Air conditioner

The squeeling is the belt because the air compresor is likely seizing. At idle it can't turn the compressor, in motionthe compressor probably turns and cools the air. Most air conditioners come on when the defroster is on.

Air conditioner compressor making a knocking noise while running.i read that oil needs to be put in it if so where and how or do I need to plan on replacing the compressor

Get a can of R134a refrigerant with sealant and oil and add with a hose.
Can buy at Walmart for under $30.
Buy the conversion from R-12 to R134a kit if you need to.

Sometimes adding a few ounces of oil will quiet the compressor but you have to try.

Compressor is probably a few hundred dollars to replace, so try the cheap solution first.

I tried to charge the air conditioner on 95 suburban. it doesn't act like it wants to charge. the compressor keeps cycling on and off so can't get a good read on the pressure.

The system could be low on oil. The compressor will shut itself down if it detects a lack of oil or refrigerant. Try adding compressor oil (comes in a can similar to the R-134A) to see if the compressor will stay engaged long enough to accept a charge. It's also possible that the system has so much air in it that it needs to be evacuated before refrigerant can be added. I'd try to add the oil and see if you have better sucess adding refrigerant REMINDER: Have AC on HIGH when adding refrigerant with car running

Hope this helps with your AC problem. Please post back with any other questions. Best of luck.
