Just about any vehicle is worth $200 for scrap.
It would depend on how or why the rocker arm broke if the engine is worth fixing. You would not know without removing the valve cover and looking at the rest of the parts.

For one thing it depends on where you live what it would cost to fix. And I really could not guess without pulling the valve cover. There are several possible causes, including old age and lack of oil. Its possible some of the other valve parts are about to fail.

Without pulling the valve cover, you would have to buy it based on junk value of about $400. Then figure the cost of a used engine compared to the value of the truck on the used car market. Its probably not worth investing in a used engine if it is going to need one and then sell it, you would have to plan on keeping it. And then you would have to figure on the fact the drive train has lots of age and lots of miles.

You may be able to fix the rocker arm and drive it another couple of years. Or it may need an engine next month. Thats the gamble. And my 96 Pathfinder blew a transmission the second year I owned it. Not worth fixing at that point.

Thank you Stephen, i am going to look at it today....thank you for the advice...

SOURCE: how to tighten rocker arms

Does the clicking ever go away? valve adjustments are tricky and must be done in a certain sequence. It's best they be done by a knowledgeable mechanic or it can get all messed up. No offence. I'm not sure if the lifters are hydraiulic or solid. If hydraulic, a quart of dexron trans fluid in the oil should free up a sticking lifter. Watch your oil pressure and add only to clean oil and filter. Do not overfill engine. If it calls for 5 quarts then put 4 + the trans fluid. if it quiets down after running for about 10 minutes. a sticky lifter was your problem and crappy oil was the cause.
Good luck.and change the oil again whether it works or not within 50 miles.or once it clrars up.

SOURCE: my 1991 nissan pathfinder's wiper motor repair

The cowl panel has to be removed. You will find plastic clips and possibly a few screws holding the panel on. Once you remove the panel you will see the wiper linkage and motor.

How to replace rear door window on 93 pathfinder

If you can see the edge of the glass (not stuck inside a rubber mould) then the glass will be glued to the body. The quickest and easiest way for you to get a water proof job without the mess is to have a windscreen shop fit it for you. Believe me you do not want the hassle.

Some of the rocker arms are chattering on my 1995 pathfinder SE 3.0liter V6 4X4 i need to know exact specifications on tightening them back! PLEASE HELP!

This engine and vehicle are fitted with hydraulic valve adjusters which means there is no clearance adjustments for them.
The trouble will be the lifters are either worn or have a blocked lubricating orifice.

Give it an engine flush and put in some new engine oil, this may help you out.

What are rocker arms?

It is not you rocker arms. It is your control arms in the back end. They are more commonly refered to as trailing arms. What happens is the bushings go bad. Nissan accualtly put out a TSB about this issue. Your rear suspension has 4 control arms. Two top, two lower. It is common for the Lower's to go out at around 100,000 to 125,000 they normally run about 115.00 a piece. I would just replace the lower ones. The uppers don't normally go out. The tall tell to this problem is about anything past 25 Mph you suddenly let off the gas it sways. Then you go to excell and it does the same thing. Almost feals like the rear dif is trying to come out from under you. What happens is the bushings go bad so when it has any slack the rear end goes out of allignment. Very easy fix costly if you don't do it yourself.

How do i solve a sticking accelerator on my 99 nissan pathfinder?

It will have to be lubed, but first find out what is sticking. Disconnect the cable from the pedal and work the pedal if it is free go under the hood and disconnect the other end work the throttle is it free. If the throttle and pedal are free the cable is binding or going bad. The best thing to do is replace the cable.

Broken piece passenger side of front end broken shock

Go to a Datsun/Nissan dealer, find the parts guy. Ask him to pull out an illustrated parts breakdown for your year and model. He can find you the part number and name of your part, possibly even sell you one, but unlikely for that year. Call around to junk yards to find one with an old pathfinder or look around in ebay motors.

I just bought a 93 nissan pathfinder xe-v6 and it needs a little work the power locks dont lock or unlock, i dont know what bulbs to put in the by the rear view, the window washer for the rear window works...

I have a 1994 Nissan Pathfinder too and it does the same problem when you push the locks down it sounds like a relay in the back of the Vehicle and when the weather is cold they work fine, finally found that the lock of the hatch is bad and this is causing the problem all the locks should to be closed in order to automatically lock or unlock, just clean it up and put oil, it worked for me.

Rocker arm failure

Did the timing belt break at one time? Aside from the obvious of it sounding like your son did what mine did and tried to race the vehicle beyond it's abilities if the timing belt broken at one time it may have damaged the valves. If the valve impacts the cyclinder it is possible that it can damage the rocker and cam. When you pull the head off this time have the head re-worked and valves replaced. This should solve the problem.
