Question about Cars & Trucks
You can do what's called a "hard reset" by disconnecting the negative battery terminal connection (the black one) for about 30-45 minutes.
Drawbacks - you lose your trip meter(s) and radio presets.

a 6ya Mechanic can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US.
click here to Talk to a Mechanic (only for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

Disconnect the battery for ten minutes if that does not reset the light you may still have a problem. Depending on what code/s set the light on, The computer will retest the sensors peroticly. If the issue that set the light is no longer an issue, the light will eventally go out.
There are different rules for different codes. Some will rescan if the engine is within 500 rpms of when it was set. Some require X amount of drive cycles (warm up, and drive above XX mph, and cool down) to rescan. etc.
Just an idea if you dont have a scanner available is to try your local part store,(Autozone or Checker etc.) Some will scan your truck for free and possibly reset the light while they are at it.
Hope this helps.
If so, dont forget to tell me so with the testimonial.

I had this issue with my 1997 dually. It is one of two things if it isn't your heater core. The factory rear window slider or the cargo light gasket. I tore my entire interior out just to find it was my rear slider. I replaced the seal and installed a solid tinted rear window and cargo light gasket.....problem solved and she's tight as a drum!
