Reduced engine power cobalt and rpm not over 2000

I don't have this issue on warmer days but when the temperature droid before zero, I have issues starting the car. I can typically charge it and it works fine. This week it started saying reduced engine power on the mornings after subzero temperatures. I plan on getting a new battery but I'm concerned if something else may be wrong. The last time I checked the codes (LAST time before today), it said the fuel was too rich and that there was too much oxygen in the exhaust. I have replaced fuel sensors and oil & filter change, and air filter change. I only have this issue on cold mornings.

Too much O2 in exhaust is a hollllllly exhaust so check exhaust for leaks,as for the battery then if its more than 2 yrs old renew and get a good one not a cheapie like i fit to cars, the loss of power i have no idea with a play under the bonnet sorry hood ,,,,must reinstate the queens english to my colonial cousins and revoke the independance charter, just think no guns allowed ?? the U put back into the language like colour and of course the increase in fuel duty to pay for all the immigrants from the middle east so 10 dollars a gallon?? anyway enough of winding up my bros stateside and the low power when cold ?? got to think about this one so going for a tea break --right check the water inlet to the inlet manifold as if blocked up or not connected it could be freezing up where the butterfly throttle valve is reducing the air intake which would cause loss of power -also try reading the temperature of the air intake in case the sensor is faulty causing the vehicle not to allow the autochoke to operate ,now i most likely totally wrong in my answer here but from afar and without my head under the engine compartment i can only make a few suggestions as to the cause of the problem.

Bad EGR valve comes to mind here. Assuming the plugs are good, the EGR valve woiuld be what I'd look at.

SOURCE: 2004 Hyundai Terracan, 2.5 turbo diesel, manual.

right renew the glow plug timer/relay if you put a meter on the glow plugs when cold and turn ign on (with help) it should supply power for a about 20 secs ,time depends on outside air temperature ,if all else fails then do a colin --- use a push button switch, wired to a relay so glow plugs can be operated by pushing the switch which you will mount on the dash ,cant beat a manual overide system

Reduced power light is on in my 2001 Izusu Rodeo Sport

the Reduce light, is not transmission , light correct?

what country are you in., ( asked 10000 times zero answers .well 3)
what engine,? we cant guess engines, here, and it seems to be just that, the engine issues.??? felt is real;. sure..

is the tranny stick or auto...... autos can slip and go to limp home mode just like engines do. so what transmission?

if in USA all scan tool made will scan an ISUZU. 1996+
so then you see DTC errors. and why its in limphome mode.
"your reduced power deal"
there is no other way,,,, besides, 1000 pages i type on how to test EFI with not scan tools.....I can do it. but refuse. to type that here..
as one famous poster said.
you want 50 years experience on 1 fixya page. :LOL

i wont say that, I say.
1: check all fuses.
2: make sure battery, voltage is 13.3 to 15v running, if not you have charge system failures, fix that first because EFI will not run on dead batteries, ever. (discharged for any reasons)
3:Scan it. do so and tell the DTC errors, im sure you have them.
4: or did you skip the 60,000 mile major tuneup, or never did one this decade,,,, wow, that be why , huh?

Engine runs good but when you put it in gear it wont run properly it lacks power for a ford expidition 2001

If it´s from Zero speed, accellaraing, and no power, and considering you don´t mess with car, just check fuel filter.
More data is needed to give more precise information, like engine RPM, tubo or not, diesel os gas, etc. Please supply more info...and as more it comes, the more we are able to help!!

Dash says "reduced power reduced" and won't go

Your vehicle has an issue with the accelerator actuators. There is a sensor on the pedal and also on the engine throttle. For some reason, there is a miss communication between the two and will require a diagnostic scan tool to resolve.

What is hte proper temp on a 2008 cobalt?

Ususally the thermostat opens at 195 to 200 degrees. Coolant and pressure allow normal temps to go to 230 to 240, and much higher under heat soak condition (unit turned off). Fans kick in near that temp. So, the engine needs to be that hot to be efficient and to have emission controls shift to normal... Also the high temprature prolongs engine life by forcing moisture from the oil.

Hi! The MAF (mass air flow) sensor is surely faulty. The MAF has big contribution on the engine performance specially on the idling an vacuum supply. If the MAF is faulty the rpm will drop eratically or die. Regarding the overheating problem, you may want to check the radiator blower for it may be tripping that sometimes it works and sometimes won't. This can be a good cause. Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa!

i have an 06 cobalt with the same issue and when my engine light finally came on it showed up as evap system malfunctioning. This is for the emissions system. My code shown was P0440. This can be caused by a faulty or loose gas cap, a purge valve, a vent valve, or the evap canister. I am waiting on the purge valve to arrive now so should know if that takes car of mine in a week, but i have already replaced my gas cap and the problem is still there. Hope this helps you some
