Question about Suzuki Reno

1 Answer

The check engine light on my '05 Suzuki Reno is flashing, and the car runs rough at low speeds, especially when it is really cold outside..

Exhaust smells a little like rotten eggs. Have taken it two several mechanics to have it scanned, but no codes are being recorded. Replaced plugs, plug wires, and battery to no avail.

SOURCE: Car coded yesterday p0303 noe check engine light flashing

The only thing left is the injector or a vacuum leak on the manifold gasket sucking air in and causing a lean condition. Thats is its the only common issue providing you dont have a head gasket issue leaking coolant on that cylinder and the compression and valves are not leaking. The old spark plug should show a coolant issue if present. The white part will be shiney if you have a coolant loss. If the coolant is looking real dark you should have the cooling system checked for gas being pushed into the cooling system on compression stroke thru the head gasket.

Hi I'm anthony I have a 2005 suzuki reno I think it's a grate car so I'd like to beef it up with a bigger motor what engine do u think would be best fitting for low budget rebuild?

I would put a 5.7 litre V8 Shelby Mustang engine into it. It would make it fly! Trouble is there would be nowhere for you to sit! This is a joke right :>) You can't put any other engine into that tiny car other than the one that came with it!

The only thing you can do is buy some performance pats for it, perhaps even go faster vinyl stripes.

Runs smooth then runs rough & rough back to smooth running.

If your check engine light comes on get it checked. To me it sounds like an engine misfire probably cause by a coil pack or spark plug wire going bad. The misfire should cause the check engine light to come on maybe even flash if the misfire is bad enough

Temp gauge in 2006 Suzuki Reno is going to H all of a sudden. Also check engine light is on... can you help?

Jacky, that is double posted. back up one and read.
    but now its high.
why not check cooling levels, if low the guage will wag high and low.
that is because the gauge cant measure AIR temp, (air in system)
1: engine dead COLD , do not do this on any hot engine.
2: open RAD cap, remove it.
3: gander down in the rad cap hole, see the AF fluid there.
4: is full of AF (antifreeze coolant) YES /NO.
5: if no , the and the proper coolant , do NOT GUESS.
do not mix AF types. or vary bad will happen.

the side overfill tanks on all cars can lie. they can fail or just mess up.
the engine and RAD must be full AND the side tank 1/2 full cold.
all 3. not just one thing.
    that is how its done.

no engine option stated, so must answer in the generic, lots of engine options, and not all are the same, not even close.

Engine light on not flashing dont hear any noise comming from engine although when i stop i hear like slight pops from rear of car for a few seconds

Engine light means either too lean (Air leak) or too rich (Flooding) or misfire in engine. Can also indicate low idle.

Steering warning light on 2005 suzuki reno

    Speed Sensitive Power Steering
    (SSPS) Warning Light
If your vehicle has Speed Sensitive Power
Steering (SSPS), this warning light will
come on briefly when you turn the ignition
to ON as a check to show you the bulb is
    working.
Then it should go out after a few seconds.
If the warning light does not come on, have
it fixed so it will be able to warn you if there
    is a problem.
If the warning light stays on, or comes on
while you are driving, the SSPS system
may not be working. If this happens, see
    your SUZUKI dealer for service.

    Runs rough when cold

On start (Especially in Cold temperatures)it is harder for the oil pump to bring oil to the top of the engine, making noise more prevalent .Keep fluids level and oil clean and you shouldn't have to worry.
