I have a 2005 dodge dakota. Yesterday in starting my truck I got an message just showing "ERROR" where the milage would show on the gauage cluster. I have checked the truck owners manual and there is

The message ERROR means the instrument cluster is not communicating with the computer.
It could be a wiring problem, or something with the computer.

I had to have an ign. interlock dev. put on my 2003 pt would that cause oxy. sen. problems?

Sounds like whatever you had added is not wired correctly. If you just replaced the factory interlock you would not have a problem with the factory system.
If the old O2 sensors were bad and you replaced them new, the problems should have gone away. It would have been a coincidence. But you have further problems, it may indicate that something else was hurt that first damaged the O2 sensors and continued on to damage another unknown component.

You should take the car back to the shop where the O2 sensors were installed, as they may have unhooked something else and left something controlling the idle unhooked. Take it back to the shop which did the interlock device once you find out what was damaged. They broke it, they should pay for it.

Now the O2 sensors can have a big effect on how the engine idles. So can a dirty EGR valve. You need to have a different scanning machine hooked up to your car. The larger $$ units tell more while the smaller units will usually read the Error Codes from the onboard computer. You want a machine that reads ALL the info, because the Code reader type will draw a blank if there is no Code present.

Also there are devices which a mechanic can hook up and drive your car with it connected. Then any problem is recorded as it happens. This added info can find the problem where the cheaper scanners can not.

2000 Buick Century. Put in a replacement radio/cd/casset player. Radio works, clock works, but CD and casset do not. The message comes up E 13. What does this e code mean?

if its a radio shack radio, it means E13 means "Tape Communication Error". It is caused by the
microprocessor reading speed pulses from the tape deck either too fast, most other makes mean about the same thing, normally a stuck tape will cause this code to show up, either that or the drive gear that loads and unloads the tape is broken, cracked, or jammed
