SEQUENCE ACTIVATED BY THE PARKING BRAKE . 1. While engine is running (key in ignition switch), apply the brakes and hold the pedal down. 2. Move gearshift lever to neutral. 3. Apply the parking brake Once Twice Note: The system can be set - at time of installation - to require that the parking brake be applied once or twice. If set for two actuations, pause one second between the two. 4. Remove key from ignition (the system keeps the engine running). 5. Exit the vehicle. 6. Within 60 seconds, close all doors. 7. The system will stop the engine and blink the parking brakes once to confirm the sequence is valid (vehicle is ready for a remote start command). SEQUENCE ACTIVATED BY THE REMOTE CONTROL 1. is the car deiseling out .. what i mean is sputtering when you turn the key off and just not shutting down or is it running like you never even removed the key??? If it is chugging when you turn it off and not shutting down it sounds like the timing belt... hope this helps
The first thing you need to check is whether the key has a pellet in it or "chip". If it does...the problem is most likely your key lock cylinder. Go buy a new key lock cylinder....KEEP YOUR OLD KEY. Take your new lock cylinder down to any Chevrolet dealer to find out what the VATS number is for your key....then have the dealer cut you a new key with that same VATS number...then go to your vehicle and remove the negative battery cable...this does two things...1. It resets the computer after a five minute period of no power...2.. allows you to work on the steering column without power on it.
Remove the steering wheel with the aid of repair manual.
Put the new key lock cylinder with the wire running down the steering column. Then put the steering column back together....Hook up the negative battery cable, then use your new key that was CUT and your car should start
well to get the key out all you need to do is takeWD-40 and put the small hose on it as far as you can down the ignition the spay it and wiggle the key UP AN DOWN then take a sewing needle and wiggle it around in the ignition som anything holdin the key in there will come loose. TRUST ME I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WITH MY 2006 SILVERADO
