Rpm not catch gears

Hi I have a 91 honda accord lx automatic trans. since i bought the car the d4 light on dash doesn't work. When in d4 or d3 it goes from 1st gear to 3rd gear skips 2nd and if i have it on d4 it still skips second and will not shift into that 4th gear... but if i take off in d3 take off is 1st gear cuz of autoshift but then i have to manually shift to 2 (2nd gear) it grabs 2nd fine and then back to d3 and leave it there because even if i put it in d4 it still won't shift to 4th... if i try taking off in 1 (1st gear) it stays in 2nd gear i sift it to 2 (2nd gear) it stays in 2nd i sift to d3 (3rd gear)it sifts to 3rd i shift it to d4 and it wont **** to 4th even if i'm going 100mph and just today 3rd will just rev even almost at 6000 rpm and in reverse it also revs and doesn't want to move not even an inch not even at 6000rpm...... what could be the problem with this would really really appreciate it thank you

SOURCE: I have a 91 honda accord lx with 4 speed automatic

Larry, you really need to take it to a trasnsmission shop and find out what the trouble codes are, but it seems as though you have a burned up transmission. Thanks and good luck with your repair.

I have a 1993 Honda Accord Lx I just got with no manual . Which gear is for driving?

D4 is where you want to spend most of your time as this is the overdrive gear. About the only time you will need to run in D3 is if you are climbing steep grades or, if equipped with a tow kit, pulling a load.

Having automatic shifting problem 1992 honda accord lx 2.2

Sounds like a month or two at most of normal driving before your transmission completely gives up. How many miles are on the vehicle and has the transmission ever been serviced? Also make sure it has enough tranny fluid, as this will cause it not to want to come out of park. good luck.

92 honda accord lx - flashing d4

This light is indicating a fault in the automatic gear box, it can be excessive slippage (you may feel nothing unusual) or other problems. you must have it scanned by a dealer or ****** repair shop to find out what is causing the light to come on.

Gear Position light D4 is always flashing irrespective of gear.

This issue is caused by a transmission fault or malfunction, most likely a shift solenoid in the trans has failed or the trans control module has a problem, the trans can be tested for codes that will show what circuit or component of the trans controls is causing the light to stay blinking, have it tested.

I just picked up a 87 honda accord and just want to know what gear i drive it in it has l2 d3 and d4 can you help got me confused

D4 - this gear means that all four automatic gears will be able to work (1,2,3,4)
D3 - Three gears will be able to work (1,2,3)
D2 - Two gears (1,2) - L2 means the same thing
D1 - One (low) gear (1)

For your car, drive it in d4. this means that all forward gears will work, including overdrive (4th gear). It will be fine to leave your car in this gear.
