Valve covers and pans are really light, you use inch pounds and the spec is 5 to 12 inch pounds.

3.0L and 3.5L V6

air intake plenum 11-14 ft lbs.

camshaft bearing cap 14-15 ft lbs.

connecting rod nut 37-38 ft lbs.

camshaft sprocket bolt 66-67 ft lbs.

crankshaft pulley bolt 108-116 ft lbs.

cylinder head bolts 65-72 ft lbs. ( 3.0L) 76-83 ft lbs. (3.5L)

drive plate ( flywheel ) 53-55 ft lbs.

exhust manifold 11-16 ft lbs.

Replacing cylinder head on 1986 montero with 2.6 timing chain. just need timing marks and head torque specs.

What has to be taken off to replace plugs wires on montero sp


pleneme(sorry for spelling) needs to be removed . one mechanic wants $800 to do and added that he needs to remove valve covers and may need to replace vavle gaskets. other shop said 350 no mention of valve covers.still have not had it done, will update when i rob a bank. ps believe my engine is a 3.0.

Torque specs for the main bearings, connecting rods and heads


Here you go...

Connection Rod Nuts: 37-38 Ft Lbs.
Main Bearing Caps: 55-61 Ft Lbs.
And Head Bolts...

1st - step; - 80 ft./lbs. 2nd - step, loosen all bolts; 3rd - step; - 80 ft./lbs.
