SOURCE: Oil filter location on a 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan

if you can't see it from above... underneath is the best way then. it is likely on the front of the motor (actually the side) closest to the radiator.

SOURCE: The hood release lever does not release the hood.

Do you have a new cable?? If not most likely there is a need for it it may be stretched out. You can grab the end of the cable that goes to the release (in the interior) with a pliers and pull it this will finish the cable and a new one will most likely be needed

SOURCE: 2008 Dodge Avenger check engine light

Not sure if this will work for you but worth a shot. I own a 2005 dodge neon. I know the ecu's are different but maybe dodge was smart and made all the cars this way. Insert you key into ignition. Turn key forward until you are at the last position right before the car starts to crank over. Repeat this for a total of three times then on your digital odometer display, you will see a set of numbers displayed. this will be your code for the malfanction(s) that set your check engine light. Like I said, it might not work on your car but give it a shot. If not, rent an obdII scanner and get your codes. Then you know where to start looking to fix your problem.

SOURCE: hood release wont latch

This maybe a problem of the hood being misaligned. in order to remedy this you will have to adjust the 4 bolts on the hinges holding the hood in place and the latch little by little. But first try a penetrating oil on the latch assembly and look for anything out of place.

Have a 1999 Dodge Avenger V6. Keeps blowing Engine Fuse under hood

Fusible link 3 feeds the PCM. the ASD relay, and fuel pump relay. Assuming it has A/T, that fusible link also feeds the starter relay, the EATX-ECM, and the EATX relay. A short in any of those elements could be causing the trouble.

Is there more than the one fuse box other than the one under the hood of a 2010 dodge avenger?

The only one listed in the owners manual is the one under the hood. Known as the Totally Integrated Power Module, it should be the only one.

Try disconnecting the battery for at least one full minute. That should allow the "brain" to reset. Reconnect and see what happens. If that didn't fix it, next would be fuses and relays. Look in the owners manual for the location of those since I have not worked on an avenger. Inside the cover, there will be a diagram showing which is the fuse for the trans if there is one there. Locate any fuse that is labeled transmission. There may not be one, it may have all the fuses and relays for the trans under the hood. There is probably a relay in the box under the hood. Check that out and replace the relay. If that doesn't fix it find a reputable shop that can do a scan of the trans electronics. Maybe they can erase a code and get it working. If not, you will need to go to a Dodge dealer and have them go through it. I mentioned a reputable shop because sometimes they don't charge as much as the Dodge dealer. If the trans is bad, you don't have to get it replaced there, but if you want it done right I recommend the dealer, unless you know someone who had transmission work done elsewhere and got a good rebuild.

  • Remove plastic cover on top of engine, just pull on each corner for it is friction fit.
  • Once removed you will see 4 black spark plug covers with one hex type screw holding each.
  • Remove Hex screw and place aside, pull upward to remove plug boot from plug.
  • To remove the plug, use a 5/8 socket with a 6" extension. Once plug has been turned out all the way and you cannot get the plug up and out of the hole, just press the plug boot back on the plug and pull it back up.
  • Gap and replace 4 plugs with the same or equavalent type,. Drop plug down the hole and use socket to align and tighten until just snug, then torque to manufactures specifications.
