Car goes into limp mode, check engine light is on steady. Only drove it about a mile when it came on. Where do I start? Code p2302 comes up

need to know make of vehicle to give an accurrate opinion but this code generally denotes a problem with ignition coil A, secondary circuit , so will need further investigation as to wether a new coil is required or maybe just clearing the code may be all thats required

08 dakota 3.7 with codes p2302, p0301, so i changed the number 1 coil and all 6 spark plug, and it fixed nothing. still throwing same codes any ideas something in the wireing harness? how do i check?

Good morning! Yes it is more than likely in the wiring harness...
The color of the wire in question is Dark Blue/Dark Green...PCM C-2 pin 10...Check for strong blue spark on plug #1...If not present disconnect PCM C-1 and coil #1 connector...Using an ohmmeter check the Dark Blue/Dark Green wire for open or ground...That is the essence of P2302...If open or reads to ground, cut it on both ends and re-run a new wire (of equal gauge) from point to point...Guru...saailer

I have an 05 Dodge truck with the 5.7 hemi and it's reading a p2302 and a p0137 code. Where should I look to rectify the problem and clear the codes?

The P0137 is indicating that an oxygen sensor is shorting to earth. Simply check the connections and wiring for all oxygen sensors for integrity, the oxygen sensors are located on both the exhaust manifolds (one before the catalyst and one after making a total of 4) Note that each oxygen has four wires to it, two are for the integral heater element within each sensor and the other two wires are the signal wires. The P2302 indicates a problem with the low tension supply to the ignition coil. I suspect that the error might actually have its root cause in the short to the oxygen sensor; parasitic power loss through the short to the oxygen sensor from the coil. Solve the oxygen sensor and the other problem may just be solved at the same time.
