Hey zach, no they are not reverse thread. They are most likely just very tight from the heat and cool cycles they go thru. Put your wrench on them and give it a few sharp raps with a ball peen hammer. That should break them loose enough to finish with the wrench.

2002 Trailblazer - 4 bolts on caliper. I loosened the top bolt with the pin, but when I try to loosen the bottom, it feels like I'm tightening it. Do I need to loosen all 4?

SOURCE: cannot remove rear brake caliper

Try using a "c" clamp and push the piston in all the way on the caliper. Take the lid off the master cyl first. Lee

99 chevy lumina rear disc brakes. I thought a caliper bolt was broken. I went to the other side, it looks the same. so one is a bolt, what is the other thing? How does it come off?

you will remove the one bolt that holds the caliper to the bracket. Once that bolt is removed you can rotate the caliper away from the rotor and then slide it off the other caliper slide. Sometimes you will have to rotate it, remove the caliper bracket mounting bolts and then remove the caliper assembly due to the lack of clearance.

What are the torque specs. for the caliper mounting bolts on 06 chevy equinox 3.4 2wd

2010-2017 Equinox

FRONT brake caliper BRACKET bolts Torque is 140 FT/LB and Caliper to the bracket is only 20 FT/LB.

REAR brake caliper BRACKET bolts Torque is 92 FT/LB and Caliper to the bracket is 20 FT/LB.

Remember rear bracket torque is different so don't forget as many DIY mechs snap that rear bracket bolt.

Use Thread Lock on caliper BRACKET Bolts.
