SOURCE: replace water pump cost

the time to replace is 3.8 hours. multiply this by the shop flat rate and this will give you a labor rate. call some local parts houses to find the price on the pump, dodge gets around 98dollars hope this helps, depending on when you last changed the timing belt you ight want consider doing this at this time as it has to come off to change the water pump. this is an interference engige if the belt breaks it will damage the valves, you should only have to pay for the belt. hope this helps if not ghet back tome and i'll try to help you further. please rate my fix, as i strive to the best Thanks Ray

SOURCE: labor time to replace a faulty water pump in 05 Gran Caravan 3.8

Try (repairpal.com) for estimate for your particular area. You may have to enter Grand Caravan to get the 3.8L engine .
I'm thinking 2 hrs.

How long does it take to fix the water pump on a 2000 oldsmobile Alero if the water pump is behind the timing belt and how much should it cost?

most shop rates (depending on area) are around 60 to 100 bucks an hour. its most likely a 4 to 6 hour job plus parts. the only way to know for sure would be to look it up in a shop labor manual

I am looking at a 1999 Oldsmobile Alero. It has a bad water pump which cause a break in the timing belt. I'm really not sure that anything else is wrong, as that was all that was listed. I would just...

WATER PUMP DONT COST MUCH BUT GETTING IT REPAIR LABOR COST TAKE 3 HRS TO REPAIR WATER PUMP UNDER $100.00 YOUR VECHICLE HAS TIMING CHAIN.LOOK ON THE INTERNET FOR PARTS PRICES LOOK UP AUTO ZONE PARTS OR ADVANCE AUTO PARTS. THEY SHOW PARTS AND SHOW PRICES.OLDS ALERO GOOD CARS I OWN ONE STILL GOING STRONG EVERY CAR WILL BREAK DOWN SOON OR LATER THATS WHY THEY SALE PARTS.IF CAR BREAKS DOWN EVERY WEEK GET RID OF IT.

How much will it cost to fix the fuel pump on my 2000 alero

you will probably won't be to happy about this: you can't necessarily fix it as you can replace it. the fuel pump will probably range from 120-200 dollars depending on it's performance/where you get it. and if you are having some one else fix it the labor will make it cost much more. It cost about 75$ an hour and takes 2-3 hours. (average)

How much will it cost to have my water pump replaced in my 2000 Alero. I am getting a quote of over $1,000.00 dollars because of the position the water pump is placed.

Your 2000 Olds Alero should have the 3400 V-6 engine...the water pump sells for about $45. The change out does not require the removal of any major components...(ie engine mounts etc.) You can loosen the serpentine belt to gain full access to the water pump bolts...Yes you will lose some anti-freeze and need to refill after replacing the pump...antifreeze $8.50 per gallon...recommend you use antifreeze "Good for All Models" as it has proven to be the best for longevity...Hope this helps...Your estimate is way to high...A shop will mark up the part slightly, and charge for labor...This job should be completed in less than 1 labor hour...$55. to $75. per hour depending on your location...PLEASE shop around if you cannot do this one by yourself:)

Alero 2000 trac light wont turn off.Dealer said abs module need to be replaced,GM PART COST $1,000 PLUS $175.LABOR does this sound right?

Yeah, the labor is actually lower than i would have thought. You can call some junk yards to find one (hopefully) and buy it for far less and then take it to a mechanic with a lower labor rate, or locate a new one online through a parts distributor and replace it yourself, but the dealer will always gouge you on repairs.

Sorry,
matt

Anytime you want this kind of info call the dealer and ask them what the book says as far as hours charged for that job. The pump should be 2 hrs at 75.00 an hour give or take. Hope it helps.
