You should have a 3/4 ton or bigger for Lance 855. I'm sure your truck can but you to put camper springs on the back and your truck may struggle with the camper.

Is this a trick question? The center tube is what keeps all the pleats of the filter in place. Of course, it would collapse if the tube was missing. Why would you use a filter in that condition in the first place?
