What engine, ?
The engines available: D15Z4 D16Y9 B18B4 103kw B16A6

D15Z4, must be it.
what country? sold to......???????????????
off wiki 2

  • Fuel Control : SFI (Simple Fuel Injection)
  • Ecu Code : P2C/P2E
sparks systems vary by engine. greatly and by year, 1996
we have no books on that here.
  • 1996-2000 Honda Ballade/Civic in South Africa, Venezuela, and Trinidad & Tobago
  • 1996-2000 Honda Civic LXi in the Philippines/Middle East
try for books in these countries....

the first thing to learn on EFI spark
is does the ECU create spark or is the distributor , standalone.
its one or the other and you must know that to fix it.
must.

we dont have these here, so the online books are not good here, and as stated, there are 2 dizzys use,, and work radically different. buy the FSM for your car and for your market and you will have what you need, in fact, dont even bother with DIY , missing the FSM. each car is different. the book tells you WHY./

test? , the distibutors in USA dont use Vacuum advance or centrifigual either , about 1990.. that ended... so our alldata.com is useless to you.... so if your old engine, non USA engine has this device then its not a FULL EFI car, just 1/2? but the tests are the same as all old carb cars with zero electronics, its just a vacuum advance servo, seen on newer cars in the HVAC still ,its just a vacuum diaphram with a spring, so the first test of 3 is this: :is the spring still a spring(action) or is it now gone (rust) next is the hand vacuum hand tool tests (classical) you hand pump 8inches of vacuum and hold there, does the diaphram move to max, yes, test 2 passes no hold there hand still, does the VA rod stay inplace for 1min, bingo test 3 passes the leak down test. we test all vacuum advances like that, removed from dizzy, then put it back and then pump it down again, does the breaker plate move from min to max, yes, good, no? the plate is jammed fix it. that leaves he fly-weight advance, a topic for aother post .. my best guess at Modulator, did i nail it, or bounce off the wall, bzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

The two lines on one side of it has different size pipes. Made this way so you hook them backwards.

How can i fix my honda 160i luxline 92 model starting difficulty?

Yes, you need to set your camshaft end distributor timing to TDC. (top dead centre). now you start vehicle, and adjust your distributor timing to 10% after tdc, on the coast or 8% inland

Motor hard to start and rpm is very erratic

It sounds like the Ignition Control Module or ICM. Best help I got with problem came from this thread. If you want to diagnose on your own follow the instructions. The person that answered is a Honda Expert
Perform the tests, in Sections A and B, below:

http://www.askmehelpdesk.com/cars-tr...das-46563.html

Be sure to run the K-Test. The ECM may be failing and it is causing the main relay, near your left knee, to go beserk.

I only recommend genuine Honda distributors. There have been many problems on this site with members who have installed new aftermarket distributors. Personally, I would run the tests above and likely install a new genuine Honda distributor, along with a new Ignition Control Module and coil. On older Hondas, problems tend to be failing Ignition Control Modules, coils, ECMs, and main relays.
