2000 ford taurus leave it outside will not start put it in garage starts fine could it be drawing dampness

That sounds like a moisture problem. If you need to leave it outside over night. i'd just try putting a tarp or a car cover over the front end of your car. this will keep most of the moisture out of your engine.

Could it be the fuel pump? If you let it sit for a bit then turn the key on and listen for it to pressurize the system you can tell if it's working or not.

try changing the fuel filters if you havent already. Assuming your getting spark it should start if you also are getting furel.

Car sputters at start up in wet or damp weather

spray your distributor wires and cap with silicone spray. If this does not work you will have to replace distributor cap as it will have a hair line crack in it.

Astro vans that won't start if it's damp/raining outside

I have a 2000 Astro had the same troubles.I saw that the sides of the coil were burned looking.In between the bar that goes around it. This started around 110K It would run badly when wet or high humidity.Then throw up the check engine lite.Put on a new coil so far the problem has no reocured.
