Hello. If you have a impact gun it will spin off , if not you can use a pair of vise grips and a leather glove. Put the glove around the pully and pinch it with the vise grips. This will help you keep from bending or putting nicking up the pully. Then just turn the bolt until the vise grips hit the side of the housing and you should be able to break it lose.
1991 Buick Rivera only came with a 3.8L engine known as the 3800
The crank sensor is behind the Harmonic balancer / Crank pully. Special tool required to remove pully without damageing it. once pully is off the crank sensor is held inplace by 2 bolts.
The crank balancer pulley needs to be removed so the crank sensor can be replaced. You will need an air impact wrench to remove the pulley bolt and a puller to remove the balancer.
you can put a breaker bar and socket on the bolt and unplug a) the injectors or b) the coils so it wont start and crank it over like 2 times put the breaker bar on the pulley with the handle of the breaker bar touching the ground and u crank it and it'll break free
No special tools required. The bold which holds the crankshaft pully on is a 22mm bolt. Once removed, you can remove the harmonic balancer and replace it with a new one. If you have access to an impact gun/wrench and compressed air at 90 psi, you can do this easily yourself -- the cost?.. depends if you get the part from a junk yard or from a Hyundai Parts department.
Why cant I get the bolt out???
