It might be that you have too much or too little freon in the system. Recheck to make sure you have pressure in the line using a guage. You should be doing this while the car is running. If you still have pressure, watch the guage and see if the ac comes on then goes off (in this case you have too much freon in the system and the high pressure switch is cutting it off to prevent blowing the system out). If it is not working then you may have a bad a/c switch or it might have leaked down to where the low pressure switch won't allow the ac to come on (this prevents damaging the compressor.

Try disconnecting the battery for 10 minutes to reset the a/c aystem computer if that doesn't help start checking fuses and your low pressure switch

Did you oil the compressor? you have to put a predetermined amount of oil in the compressor before running it.

SOURCE: ac compressor wont kick in. Full of freon, new ac

Probably just the a/c resistor which is a big black block thing just under the passenger dash. You dont need to remove the dash just crane your head underneath and you will see it. Mine went and i got another off Amazon for about $30. Apparently they tend to go every so often. Good luck!

Have a 1988 Lincoln Town Car, have put in new A/C compressor, new drier, new condenser, new hoses, new evaporator & full of freon. But compressor want cycle, what could be my problem???

If the compressor wOnt cycle, it means that the pressure is not correct. How much freon, (and what type) did you put in, and did you PULL DOWN (with vacuum) the system to about -29 inches before putting the freon in? Did you use manifold gauges? If so, what is the high pressure, and what is the low pressure, at what ambient temperature?

Air conditioner blows hot but freon is full

Your compressor could be faulty. Check to see if it engages when you press the AC button with the car running.

My lincoln mark lt pickup won't blow cool air

My lincoln had the same issue, first it was the A/C compressor (original). I replaced it with another one (used) and worked for 1 month. Then back to hot air. "A/C experts" told me the compressor was out again. I took it to a Mexican auto shop, old building where the guy works alone and to my surprise...HE FOUND THE PROBLEM!! There was no freon leaks, the lines were freezing cold inside the motor, checked freon>>full. He then checked the filter. This filter is on the end of the line where it is crimped that allows the freon to flow thru. Im no mechanic so explaining what it is, forgive me. I can only show you...the line is silver ad in front of you by the radiator, and its the same tube that goes to where you plug it to add freon. There is a filter that was clogged up and prevented the freon from flowing. He removed all the freon, vacuumed out the system/line, and replaced the filter for less that $3.00. Added freon and his cost was $80.00. Thank God for honest people who work hard for a living. I buy the parts, he replaces and I continue to give him my business. Other expensive auto shops with fancy buildings/prices My Lincoln Mark LT now blows arctic cold air!!!

No current to ac compressor

A mechanic would start at the compressor and work back.
Did you jumper the low pressure switch, or the relay, or put power directly to the ac clutch ?
You have a low pressure switch that should be closed and a high pressure switch that should be closed to put power to the compressor clutch. If the freon pressure drops below 20psi the low switch opens, if it goes above 300 psi the high switch opens.

Ac clutch

fuse could be blown or freon level is low in system. Ac units think of like a basketball with air loss over time likewise in an older ac unit with rubber seals deteriorating low freon level will not allow compressor to engage

The AC in my car doesn't work. Everything has been looked at and it system has been charged. Everything works out but no cold air. The you can hear everything come on just like it would with the heat. Any...

When you put on the A/C find out if the compressor is engaging. There are pressure switches for both too little freon or too much freon. If the compressor is not engaging there is a switch on the low pressure side close to the oblong cylinder where you put in the freon. Unplug the switch and put a jumper wire on the wire harness plug. The compressor should engage. If it does you either have too little freon or the low pressure switch is bad.

Ac compressor does not turn on when car has been sitting & it's hot outside. Works fine in the morning.

either the freon charge is about 1/3 low, or the expansion valve needs to be replaced. Freon is getting into the evaporator, but not in great enough volume to cool the air unless it is coming in cool to start with. check your ac charge, and if it is full, then have it emptied, change out the expansion valve, and recharge it

Car full of freon, air conditioner still not cooling

Yes the system can be full of freon and yet not work, the pressure switch could faulty, the expansion valve too could be faulty, he drier receiver too.
On switching 'on' the AC , is the AC compressor workingor rather does it engage?
The AC compressor clutch too could be not functioning.
I guess you have to go step by step to check first if the AC compressor does rotate on switching 'on' the AC.
