Question about 2000 Chevrolet Silverado 2500
I just replaced my a/c compressor and need to know how many lbs. of freon to put in the truck. the label on the front is not readable and the dealer couldn't tell me anything. it's a 2000 Chevrolet silverado 2500 with a 5.3ltr. thanks.
If its a new body style (with the round front - i am assuming because it has a 5.3) then it takes 2.0lbs (.91kg). Make sure you check your fan clutch to see if it spins freely or has some drag to it. the fan clutches usually fail causing the compressors to come apart, the failed ones spin freely.
