Both; if a timing belt were to brake, it could cause major damage to the engine. Engine failure due to a broken timing belt would not be covered under your warranty if you failed to have the timing belt replaced.

Will be purchasing a new 2015 Elantra. Should I purchase an extended warranty?

I would ask hard questions on this one I paid almost a thousand dollars for an extended warranty on a used car and six weeks later I had to tow the car in. I showed them the warranty paper work and they answered oops it does not cover the computer and parts. It was running parts only like engine and tranny.

I have my extended Mercedes Benz Warranty coming up in the next month. It is a 2005 SL 65. Can you advise what items I should have the dealership check for possible problems so I can get it fixed under...

You need a full PMS( Preventive Maintenance Service ).
Just tell the service advisor to do that PMS( checking all underchasis, steering, electrical, brakes, fluids, transmission, bolt & nuts retightening ), change oil, and check all filters.
That's all they should do for a warranty check up.

Hope Fixya helps you out!

I bought a used Ford Escape, the finace manager was very misleading in providing the actual amount of extended warranty. I apparently purchased a protection plan which after looking into it is a total...

$385-$2000 depending on what you want covered and the mileage. Depending on your state, you have a limited time to take the car back for a refund. It may be 3-7 days, really depends where you live.

My car started ran and shut off within 5 sec. Could the coil have going bad. The car cranks but does not turn over.

Yes a weak or faulty ignition coil could cause this, but first some troubleshooting is required. The engine needs three things to run, compression, fuel and spark. Take away one of those three things and there is a problem. Check for spark. Check for fuel pressure and a broken t-belt will cause compression loss so that needs checked too. The good news is your vehicle may still be covered by an extended emissions warranty all 96 & 97 honda models except passports are covered for 14 years or up to 150,000 miles which ever comes first. Have your local honda dealer run a VIN Status inquiry to see if your vehicle is covered. if it is you might want to get the vehicle to the dealer for diag because anything emissions related is covered under this warranty ext. Were talkn' coils, ignitors, spark plugs, injectors control units the list goes on, sorry a broken T-belt is not covered. Also in this extended warranty is one complementry Tune-up which includes; spark plugs, dist cap, rotor, plug wire replacement and an oil change between 75-150k miles. -good luck, I hope this helps.

Elantra purge valve under warranty?

Who did you buy your extended warranty through?... It may or may NOT be covered -- depends on your extended warranty agreement.

Suzuki swift is full of problems

no need to panic. rear view mirror: if mounted on windshield try tightening small allenscrew where base contacts windshield(might need to remove plastic cover). if mounted to headliner, remove plastic cover to reveal 2/3 phillips screws and tighten them. rear cover has plastic clips that sometimes break or loosen. they can be bought at make sure they are lined up with holes in rear panel. if all else fails look up lemon law on internet.
