1998 oldmobile intrigue blower motor removal

I need to replace the blower motor but can't seem to disconnect the power plug or the hose that is connected to it. Can you describe the method for doing this? I think I can do the rest once I get past this part. Thanks!

Press down on the release clip and use a vit of force to remove plug...If the motor is really bad the connection may be burned on. The hose is soft rubber. Just squeeze it and take it out of the motor housing...shouldn't be hard to do!

I need to replace the blower motor because when you turn it on it squels very loudly until it warms up. do you have a picture of exactly where it is located so I can see what I am up against?

    Welcome to Fixya

Here's the procedure on how to replace the blower motor.

1 Turn off all electrical devices and turn the ignition key to the "Off" position.
2 Remove the battery's negative cable bolt with a wrench. Pull the negative battery cable off of the battery.
3 Locate the passenger side instrument panel insulator panel located under the passenger side of the dash. Remove the two panel retainers from the panel with the retainer pin removal tool. Pull the panel off of the locating stud and away from the dash.
4 Disconnect the panel harness clip by hand and move the harness out of the way of the blower motor. Unplug the blower electrical connector by hand. Remove the cooling hose from the blower motor by hand.
5 Remove the blower motor retaining bolts with a wrench. Lower the blower motor and fan out of their housing.

My 98 intrigue a/c and heater blower stopped blowing

This could be caused by a fuse being blown or the blower motor itself could be faulty. I would start by checking all your fuses which can be located under you drivers side dash and under the hood of your vehicle. If this does not rectify the problem you will need to replace or have the blower motor replaced. It's located under your passenger side dash usually behind the glove compartment in a plastic housing that must be removed before you can gain access to the blower motor itself.

Heater fan does not work and if I go to #4 on the swich it will blow the 30amp fuse in the fuse box.

Sounds like you have a short in the system. It sounds like the heater motor might have a short in it.. to check this you will have to take the heater motor out and test it with a battery and some wires.. if it turns the next place to look is the heater resistor. These are located under the hood on the passenger side of the vehicle. You will have to cut an access hole in the plastic cover to access the resistor. These are a pain to get to, and they are pretty common for going bad...

    Good Luck,

Replace blower motor 1998 plymouth voyager

it is located behind and below the glove box,you might want to remove the glove box assembly to see it easier,
there are four screws holding a blower motor cover you to take off first, now remove the screws holding the blower motor up,disconnect the motor wires.
if your changing this because you think its bad,you should test the blower motor wires with a test light with the key on and blower switch turned on.if you have power in the wires, then it is bad.
but if you have no power in wires it could be blower motor resister,or switch.

How to change radiator 1998 oldmobile intrigue

Hope this helps you. Here are the basics. There are many problems you may run up against (frozen bolts, stubborn or cracked hoses, rusted clamps, etc)that may need to be fixed or replaced before proceeding: SHut off engine, allow to cool completely. Disconnect the cooling fan, remove negative battery terminal connection. Drain radiator by opening draincock and/or removing lower radiator hose, collecting coolant in a drain pan. Do not let it go onto the ground - bad for environment! Open top radiator hose to allow remainder of coolant to flow out. A few quarts of coolant will remain in the engine block. You will want to totally flush and refill AFTER replacing the radiator to get all the crud out of the system. Unbolt radiator and disconnect any other items still attached (transmission cooler, temp sensor wires, etc.). Remove radiator and replace with new, reattaching all items removed from old radiator. Inspect other items and possibly replace suspects. Reattach hoses and make sure the clamps are tightened without pinching hoses excessively. Do a flush job with water/radiator flush, making sure the water runs clear out the draincock. Instructions for flushing the cooling system are usually printed on the radiator flush bottle. Be sure the heater is on and the engine warms up completely to open the thermostat. SHut off engine and drain as much water as will leave. Fill with 50% coolant mix (Dexcool or equivalent). Estimate water remaining in the engine and add 100% coolant to balance. COmplete fill with 50% mix. Remove air by running engine until warmed with the radiator cap off, adding coolant mix along the way.

THe blower motor is under the dash. You will have to take out the glovebox and half of the dash to get up in there, but if you have the time and the energy you can fix yourself. Will have to disconnect heater core hoses under the hood
