1986 Corvette heater / AC problem. Blower and air distribution all work, but cant get, warm or cold air. Only ambient temperature. The ext and int sensors are functional. Where do I look next?

If you haven't yet, join some Corvette forums online. You'll get a wealth of information there. This sounds like a possible core problem but it's hard to diagnose over a keyboard. Good luck with it!

Would a defective heater control valve cause my ac to blow hot air?

What year, make model and engine size? A lot of times if the heater control valve does not close all the way or the flap is deteriorated it will let hot water continue to come in the heater core. When this happens and you cut the a/c on it tries to blend the two which results into warm air coming out when a/c is on.

Air condition blowing hot air. Type of car: 2003 nissan pathfinder 4x4. Should I replace/add coolant?

Lack of Coolant wouldn't cause your AC to blow hot air.

You may have a vaccum leak in your dash board that is causing your heater to remain stuck.

If not this, then you will have to have your AC recharged. You can purchase a recharging kit from your local auto parts store! Fortunately, your vehicle can use the newer type of AC Recharging kits so you have many options!

Good luck and I hope this helped!

My 01 Windstar SEL has 2 problems with the AC/heating system. #1 when you turn on the blower motor/fan it only blows air through the defrost & down at the floor. I think it's a vacuum problem. #2 the...

The problem with the air distribution is due to loss of vacuum to the vacuum motors that control the air diversion doors in the AC/Heater duct work, The vacuum comes from the engine and then goes to a vacuum storage canister, check there first under the hood. The other issue of loss of cold air is most likely due to a sticking air temperature control blend door and or actuator. This requires the dash be removed to replace the parts.

My 1992 corvette does not blow hot air. I can control air flow.

Is the inlet and outlet heater hoses hot and if so you have a seperate acuator for your hot/cold door.Check for vacuum there if you have vacuum to the acuator then it must be a faulty acuator or jambed door.

The AC in my 1986 lincoln shoots out hot air. does it just need to be recharged or does that soudn more serious?

Turn on the engine and A/c on high. Check under the hood to see if the A/c compressor starts to turn. If not it is probably to low on freon. If it cycles on and off quickly (every 8 sconds or less) It's either low or the compressor is weak. Also do the following check on a cool morning. Warm the engine up, turn the air vent with no A/c and check if the air comes out cool or hot. If it seems to warm or hot your heater valve might be stuck openEither way, look for an A/c shop that will look at it for free (there are many around). .

Air con not cooling

If the car's more than a few years old, it probably just needs something as simple as an AC recharge. This runs around $70 at most reputable shops, or there are kits to do it yourself for less money. It's fairly dangerous stuff to deal with, and usually best left to the professionals.
