Question about 1996 Dodge Intrepid
DO YOU HAVE TO REPLACE THE WHOLE MOTOR THIS IS WHAT I'VE BEEN TOLD ITS A 2.7DOHC ENGINE WHEN I TURN IT OVER I CAN HEAR THE CHAIN FREELY,THE CAR DOES NOT START BEFORE IT WENT OUT IT KEPT GIVING OFF LIKE A TUNE UP DISTRESS ENGINE LIGHT WOULD FLASH
Sounds like the chain ate all the teeth off the timing gear. if that is what happened you can replace the engine or have it rebuilt. might get prices on each option. sometimes you can buy a rebuilt engine that is better than factory specs, lasts longer and works better etc.
