Question about 1993 Buick LeSabre
Two days ago the car started stalling when you slow down from speed to stop at a light. Yesterday I notice a knock that started out soft and is now quite loud. It starts out soft and gets louder as the engine warms up. Sounds like a rod bearing is going but I also read something about harmonic balacers on these engines making a similar noise. Has anyone had this type of problem? the car has 162,000 mi and has been well maintained, and was running great before this knock.
If you can turn the serpentine belt either direction by hand at all you probably need a harmonic balancer..or just look in the passenger wheelwell at the h/balencer and see if the rubber is cracked all the way around.. just fixed one with that issue
