2001 grand am 2.4l burning oil and after awhile of driving it will die

If it is burning oil it is burning oil. This means your rings have gone bad. Vehicle will still run if it isn't too bad. As for the engine dying I would guess this is caused by another problem. Any check engine light on? If so get it scanned and see what the code is. Good Luck

Does bad spark plugs burn gas faster

First question is yes bad or worn plugs can burn more gas to generate the same amount of power.
Second question, you could fill up the tank and record the mileage, then fill it up again when it measures half a tank and compare.
If the gas gauge is working correctly it should take half the total number of gallons the tank holds to fill it up again. And the miles you drove divided by the number of gallons used equals your gas mileage.

My fifth avenue runs real good then just stalls

If you still have the lean burn ignition system, it has probably gone bad. Chrysler dealers used to sell a kit that included a new distributor and module to fix this problem and get rid of the lean burn system. They are probably still available online or ebay.

1996 cavalier; When I start the car; it smells like gas when the heater is on. The man at mufflerman changed the catalitic converter for $400 but it's still the same Betty

Your fuel pressure regulator may have gone bad and needs to be replaced if it's gas you smell. I am guessing you mean gasoline and not exhaust gas or oil burning. When the fuel pressure goes bad, it tends to leak gas. There is a rubber diaphragm that breaks and that is when the gas starts to leak on to the engine giving you the smell of gas only when the engine is running. The fuel pressure regulator is located on the fuel injector rail and can be replaced in 10 min with common tools and cost around $15.00 at Auto Zone or NAPA auto parts store. Good luck and keep me posted, be glad to help you get your car running 100% again soon and be safe.

Make sure there is no water in the gas line. Cheap gas will have water in the gas line.

Also make sure you try adjusting your idle so that way when your car is still it has a better chance of not jerking.

Easy fix... Take a gallon of gas and a clean cloth or shirt. Soak the cloth in the gas and wipe all the interior down with the gas.

Then poor some of the gas all over the engine, making sure to soak it really good

After doing this, take a match and burn that f**ker..
Mine was doing the same thing, I burned it and blamed it on Islamic jihad to my insurance. Never looked back
