Question about 2008 Hyundai Tucson

1 Answer

Front Tucson SubFrame

Hello thier guys, I just bought a damaged Tucson (Petrol) 4x4 to replace my existing 2wd Tucson. This one is a project for me to fix. I have all the parts but when went to Jig, noticed the front subframe is kinked/creased.

The guy I bought mine from has a diesel subframe sitting with no damage, he like me does not know if it will fit petrol although I know BMW and Audio ones will fit, just have additional holes for gearbox mount etc.

So what does the export think? Will it work. If so it will save me shed load of money.

Thanks

Derek

Go to http://www.hmaservice.com/ and register (vehicle by VIN). Afterward, you'll have access to technical information (manuals, wiring diagrams, service bulletins, etc) about your vehicle.

Detailed answer on why my truck wont move in ant gear, or 2wd or4wd after replacing the tranny in 99 4x4 silverado newlight-duty truck

if trans changed out and no movement and front is not freewheeling did you check and or dropped out the transfer case to check if stuck damaged or engaged ---or the new transmission is operational ---check the 4x4 actuator to see what position it is in or pull it out and check if damaged or stuck --lastly have you pulled the covers off the front and rear axles to make sure their nor frozen or damaged -do the transfer case check first disconnect the front driveshaft and check for freewheel do the same with rear driveshaft and rear with axles off and transmission in neutral try to turn tailshaft of transmission than try yoke of transfer case if any of these units dont move than thats where you check for problem

The 4wd wont disingauge back to 2wd i jacked up driverside front tire while motor was running pushed 2wd button turned wheel till it catches wont come out

Check the fuse to the 4x4, if the fuse is good then check the 4x4 electric motor actuator on the transfer case. You should hear it work from 2wd, 4hi to 4low and back to 2wd with the push of the switch. if you don't hear it working then check the wire harness at the actuator motor, look for any damages like corrosion or cracked wire connector clips. If the 4x4 actuator is working on the transfer case. There is a vacuum switch on the top of the transfer case, driver side but when that fails, your front hub stay's locked in the on position. Good luck and keep me posted and hope it's a simple fuse that has gone bad. You can pick up all these parts at Auto Zone or Parts Source and they will have the step by step instructions for you to get the job done with common tools. Replacing the vacuum switch on top of the transfer case take about 15 min to replace if you don't have to jack up the Jimmy if not 30 min if you have to jack it up. Be safe and keep me posted, be glad to know your go it working again.

Module and board replacement for proper 4x4

Take it to transmission sop but think the dealer is giving you the run around. If the 4x4 actuator is working on the transfer case, then the front hub 4x4 actuator may have gone bad and that's located on the front differential. It's common for the clip there to corrode and break and is an easy fix with a new collar pin, at worst it's the diaphragm on the vacuum actuator that is located under the battery tray. There is a vacuum switch on the top of the transfer case, driver side but when that fails, your front hub stay's locked in the on position. Good luck and keep me posted and hope it's a simple fuse that has gone bad. My friend has jus bought a 1992 Pajero, 2.5 auto, swb, no manual with it. He has heard that when changing from 4x4 to 2wd that you need to stop the vehicle, go intp 2wd, then reverse for a couple of yards...

He need not stop to change from 4x4 hi to 2wd. He can also go from 2wd to 4x4 hi "on the fly" as long as the front hubs are locked, he is going straight and maintaining a steady speed. If the hubs are manually locking, he must exit the vehicle and lock the hubs. If they are automatic locking, in order to go from 2wd to 4x4 he must stop, put the vehicle in 4wd hi and pull off. Once he starts moving, the hubs will automatically lock, he can then switch from 2wd to 4wd hi and vice versa "on the fly". To unlock the hubs, he will need to stop, put the vehicle in 2wd and back up 3 ft. (remember, this is on automatic locking hub models). Hope this is helpful!

2002 hyundai santa fe , what is an open recall, 0pen recall# 089 91b024r3 .9

There is NO open recall on the Santa Fe, However, there is one on the 1999-2004 SONATA (EF) and 2001-2004 XG300/XG350 (XG) vehicles that are registered and operated in specified “salt belt” states may exhibit corrosion damage to the subframe assembly. If specified levels of corrosion damage have occurred as described in this bulletin, replace the front subframe with a new subframe that incorporates additional holes in the upper and lower panels. If a front subframe does not require replacement, add drainage holes and treat the subframe with rust-proofing material.
