Hello drk...the only time you smell this is when the engine is under a load? Does is seem to be coming from the a/c vents? Any smoke? I've never heard this complaint on the 2005 6.0 powerstroke. A strong coolant or sulphur smell is what most owners report. Could you give a little more detail please?

smell the exhaust after you fill it up and see if it's burning in the engine if you smell the antifreeze it's going into the combustion chambers it could be a leaking gasket or a cracked head or engine block if not look around the radiator/hoses or the weep hole under the water pump your leaking from somewhere if you don't smell it in the exhaust

Why does my 98 dodge caravan have trouble climbing hills?

A transmission issue would give vibration tremendously during uphill. If you're not getting the vibration, or burning smell of transmission fluid, suspect clogged catalytic converters.

It seems to loose power when climbing a hill, it seems to studder when pressing the gas down?

Something simple to try is replacing your spark plug wires. That has worked for me on a few of my own vehicles with similar issues. Tip: Only replace one at a time and mach up the lengths as you go along. Good luck.

If it seems to run well otherwise, you might have a partially obstructed catalytic convertor. Usually if this is the problem, the engine will also bog down even if you try to rev it up when it is in neutral.
