Fuel filter is built into the fuel pump assembly.

There's many reasons this can happen, but start simple. Fuel pump may be failing. Usually under load they can not supply the fuel the engine is demanding. (Up hill acceleration is a classic example). change the fuel filter first, if that doesn't not correct the problem, test fuel system pressure. (:

Engine lags when accelerator is pressed under load

Check the plugs for fouling. You may have a bad plug wire or wires. They cause the engine to hesitate at low rpm when they are faulty. Please rate me on this answer.

Could be clogged injectors, bad fuel filter or bad fuel pump. Do you hear a hissing sound when accelerating?

2005 honda accord diesel, Jerking when accelerate

1: Change your fuel filters and bleed the air out of it.
2: Check all rubber hoses for loose hose clamps and
cracks or leaks.
Almost certainly in one or both of the two points above.

I own a 94 impreza wrx imp, when accelerating fast engine seems to lose power or get stuttery after 4000rpm, this has only started since being serviced, any ideas?

I would start with the fuel filter. If the flow is restricted it drops pressure needed at higher RPM's. Then check Catalitic converter. May have restricted the exhaust flow. Always good to start with the basics. Good luck and have a great day.

Hesitates on acceleration

Does the car always hesitate during acceleration? If it ALWAYS struggles when it starts or ALWAYS hesitates on acceleration then I would say the issue is fuel delivery. If the problems are more intermittent and come-and-go then it could be an electrical issue.

I would start by changing the fuel filter. Changing plugs, wires, cap, and rotor are all good things to do as your budget will allow. I doubt you will have to change your injectors.

If you end up replacing any rubber fuel line, be sure to use the high-pressure stuff made for use on fuel injected cars.

I hope this helps! -Nick
