Filled half a tank of ethanol up in my 2006 vw jetta tdi engine. Engine light came on and engine running rough. What should I do?

I assume it is a petrol engine !! I found a listing which says it requires premium ULP, not E10 or E20, so I think it does not like that much ethanol. Fill up as much as you can with 95 or 98 octane and see if it improves. It may take a few miles for the fuel to mix and the computer to relearn the new octane it will now drink.

Is there a low petrol warning light on a 2007 renault 1.6 scenic

Hi, yes there is. When there is around 50-60 miles left in tank a message will appear and the last fuel bar will flash. If you press the stalk that changes the message display on dash you will see the range (approx miles left in tank). ;)

Gas light failure

You will need to remove the fuel tank and replace the sending unit is my guess. This should be checked by a local shop before buying any parts.

I have a 2000 ford windstar, how many miles can you drive when the fuel light goes on?

you should not drive with fuel light on you will burn your pump out but the light comes on with 3 gallons of gas left so 40 miles in town 60 miles on the highway but I would not do it.

200 freelander diesel bmw engine wont start

The Freelander diesel is notorious for Fuel pump failure, most commonly the one in the tank, access is via under the back seat, Pump replacement is an easy job but get an aftermarket pump as the OEM units are pricey. Fuel pump life seems to suffer if you drive around most of the time with a low tank level, say 1/3 or less, or if the good lady screws up and fills it with petrol...us blokes would never do that would we??
A quick roadside fix is to vigously pound the underside of the fuel tank with a flat mallet, even a fist...not a hammer as you'll dent the tank...that should jump the pump into operation for a while to get you home
Good luck, David

Freelander w reg. 1.8 petrol, 64,000 miles on clock. when do I need to change the timing belt

If you are asking about the actual TIMING BELT and not the serpentine belt, I would check with a dealership or a local garage. The Freelander has three (3), yes--3 timing belts:

front timing belt

left side rear timing belt

right side rear timing belt

Hope this helps!

Fuel filter freelander (petrol)

The fuel fillter is in the but you shouldnt have to drop the tank to get to it or the pump. Lift the back seat and you will see a plate held in place with screews take this off. Below this is a steel plate that you will have to spin off may need help fro a hammer as they are tight. Some are badged BWM. This gets you to the fuel pump and the filter

hope it helps

Faulty petrol gauge

I had same problem with petrol gauge bouncing around all over the place, full tank, half a tank and nearly empty in the space of 10 miles.

I knew that if I filled the tank I would get approx 200 miles for half a tank so I did that for a while and just kept topping up. Audi testing it and the fuel sensors in the tank had to be replaced. I'm afraid its the only permanent solution!
