Most Cars have a solenoid that engages when you turn on the AC...It increases the RPM's slightly to compensate for the Compressor. (most AC's use 25 Horsepower to operate which is alot for an idle car) That Solenoid that does that for you isnt working. as for the name of it... Idle Boost Controller or Fast Idle to name a few. If your Car is 100% computer controlled and there is NO solenoid. then i would recommend a can of SeaFoam in your gas tank and a good long drive on the freeway for an hour to clean the inside of your engine. maybe it is just a little dirty and the AC is the straw that makes the engine stall (wow i made a funny) i hope this helps and good luck! (Seafoam is a one and only product dont buy the other garbage fuel additives)

Idleling is normal. When accelarating the car is slugish.when decelarating to stop at a low rpm engine dies. This only happens when you are stopping or driving from a high speed to low speed pr stopping

Hi,every time i turn on air or heat the car idles up and down then car dies and reads low oil pressure.when heat and air is off car is running fine.Help! Thank You Kim

Time to have the throttle body cleaned, grime build up in this area prevents the throttle plate from closing completely and causing a lean condition.

Car shutting off when air condition is turn on causing it to stall

There is a switch that works the computer upon turning on the air conditioning. Upon turning the AC on the switch sends a signal to the computer to increase the RPM's to the engine so it will not die out

Car stalls once put in gear

Most common causes for this is the MAP sensor and/or the TPS (Throttle Position Sensor). The MAP handles the air flow and the TPS controls the throttle speed under cold and hot conditions. Your car is either not idling fast enough or there's an issue with the air flow causing it to stall when RPMS's are low.

While accelerating at high speeds or going up hill my car engine completely dies and my power steering and brakes are hard to control. usually it will happen after exceeding more than 50 miles at a time....

Don't know what the fuel quality is like where you are but two years is about it for my filter...certainly will not hurt to change it. If engine is running marginally and you have an a/c problem it may be just enough to kill it going uphill, but check that filter first! Later, if you need to, check mass air flow and map sensors and, find out what's going on with a/c!

Engine starts but will not idle, i give it gas but will not sustain in running afyer 2 seconds engine dies

check all spark plugs and wires also check mass air flow senser located on intake tube if all is still in good working condition check the throttle position sensor if that is good then it may be your fuel pump please update when possable.

Air Conditioning

I'm going to assume the fan louvers (that direct air from wind shield head to feet ect) are electronically controlled. If that is the case, then a motor may have died. You only have one AC system for the vehicle, so if its cold on one side, then the fault lies within the air ducting system. Maybe a mouse built a nest in there and is blocking air flow?
