Question about 1995 Toyota 4Runner
Runs great. however, when shifting into 5th gear. sometimes grinds and if note eased in perfectly it slips out and grinds. Doesn't pop out once it has definitely shifted into 5th.
Okay, I took the advice of changing the transmission fluid. I also changed the differential front and rear, power steering fluid while they were at it and it definitely runs much better. However, the service place wouldn't put in the higher grade of fluid nor the lube. Cos they can only do the toyota recommendations. Well, its runs great but still having trouble with 5th. You can feel it catch when it finally does. In the meantime, I did some research and discovered that Toyota had a recall on the 95 for linkage problems, the head, and steering rod. Does anyone know where I can start to have Toyota handle this? I am the second owner and not sure what original owners did? Thanks, Debra
