Hey i bought a eagle yesterday from a guy who was messing with the connection to the windsheld wiper control. he said he pushed over some wires around there and herd a small noise and saw a bit of white smoke. since that point all that happens is the headlights will turn on and the dash lights but nothing else works
Sounds like he caused a wiring short and blew maybe a fusible link. This was I think before maxi-fuses, so fusible links were used to distribute power from the battery.
You get nothing by turning the key to ON? No warning lights on the dash, no gauges, no starter action? If so, follow your positive battery cable to find the location of these fusible links. Sometimes connected to the cable at the starter motor, sometimes off a pigtail from the positive cable. Could be 4 or 5 links, one for lights, one or two for ignition switch, one for wipers, etc. When a link blows out, you just cut it out and replace with the same rated fusible link. A bad fusible link will show signs of having blown. The wire my be burned looking, or may have a rough feel, like bubbles in the wire insulation. What happens is the smaller gauge wire in the link has burned through and saved the wiring harness from burning up.

well you have several options you can go to a dealship and have them copy the diagram for you(i do this all the time) or you can purchase a repair manual at Napa or Oreilly's for around 20 bucks. it has diagrams and schematics in it. it also has alot of instructions in it so you can do repairs yourself. By the way i'm surprised that the mechanic doesn't have these diagrams himself. I was wandering why it won't start after you changed the plugs and wires could it be that maybe the firing order is wrong. i've done that myself a time or 2. double check the the plug wires to make sure they are in the right spot. if the problem is it won't crank. chances are you have a loose ground. please rate this..thanks

Check for a poor connection in the "ground splice" connector located at the battery box. It should be bolted to the corner of to box closest to the radiator. The negative battery cable also attaches to this bolt. One of the black wires in this ground splice connector is ground for both the wipers and the lights. This was the fix for my car!

SOURCE: No headlights, they work if I hold the high beam/wiper arm back
If you have an AUTO off/on/delay this could be malfunctioning, you may also need a need headlight switch however, First check your low beam halogen bulbs if they are bad replace BOTH at the same time they tend to fail at a similar time and this is the least costly repair NOTE wen changing these do not touch bulb with bare hand as oils from your skin can cause the to heat unevenly and explode inside your headlight assembly Use rubber gloves most Parts stores have these available for this reason
