First i would reset the inertia switch. i looked it up and it is supposed to be located on the toe board, to the right of the transmission hump in the passenger side footwell. if the inertia switch is tripped it must be reset or it will not pump fuel. if resetting it makes no difference then take a look at the fuel pump relay in the underhood power distribution box. if that is good you might listen back at the fuel pump and see if you hear the pump cycling when you have somebody turn the key off and on, don't start it just turn the key to run then off a few times. if you hear the pump running then you might have a clog in the fuel sock on the end of the fuel pump in the tank. have to drop the tank to make sure. hope that helps

Car has been sitting up and will not start now. It seems to not be getting gas and I do not know how to prime a fuel injection system. Any help appreciated.

There is only a few cars fitted with an ancient petrol injection system that needed any priming.

Diesel engines mostly need the injection system priming but petrol injection systems do not.

Lots of cars use a system where the fuel pump runs for a couple of seconds when the ignition is switched on and that is all the time it takes to prime the fuel system. After a couple of seconds the fuel pump switches off and waits to restart when the engine is cranked.

As priming the system takes only a couple of seconds some manufacturers don't bother with the brief priming run of the pump and just have the pump start when cranking.

Could be faulty supply, fuse, pump relay or the pump itself.
If the car is fitted with an immobiliser, perhaps that is the problem.

if it has spark and only tries to sart when you prime then it is a fuel problem. pull the fuel hose where it connects to the injectors and run it into a container then turn on the key and see of fuel runs into the container, if not you need a fuel pump or filter. careful not to spill fuel all over the place. have someone turn on the key while you watch if fuel comes out so they can turn key off right away and not burn your stuff down.

Cold start low ideling

You can in most cases repair this slow speed stall or unstable idle by cleaning the engine throttle valve and the idle speed control valve using a product called CRC Spray Throttle valve cleaner. Spray the cleaner into the air intake of the engine with the hose removed from the throttle body, the engine will try to stall so hold up the idle speed manually. Once you have used up about 1/2 can of the cleaner stall the engine out while spraying and turn the key off, disconnect the negative battery cable for 5 minutes and then reconnect and drive the car for a about 25 miles of varied driving modes. If this doesn't cure the problem you may need the fuel injectors professionally cleaned by the dealer service dept.

the fuel pump don't turn on every time . first when the pump as prime or if system is prime the pump will not turn on
the PCM give a ground to fuel pump relay for 2 sec and while the engine is cranking the pump is running all the time.
but pcm don't prime each time

How do i sart my renault laguna after running out of diesel

you hhave to remove fuel filter and fill it with fuel for it to draw fuel from ththe tank when you run out of fuel on a diesel it creates an air pocket its like priming a water pump

My 1990 dodge caravan wouldnt start when I returned to it. It sarted to and now it just cranks over. I get spark and I primed the throttle body and got it to fire. I checked for fuel delivery by removing...

The fuel pump rela is located under the hood, driver side, front side of strut tower, rear of headlight, mounted on inner fender well.
However I do suggest jumping the fuel pump to see if pump turns on. Test voltage from ECM if needed. If voltage is to pump, then pump is shot. If not voltage, relay may be bad.
If pump works on jumping it you may have to try and start 5-10 times aka couple minutes. If pressure is still not building and pump is on, then you may want to consider testing the fuel pressure regulator. voltage regulator will handle amount of fuel pressure being delivered to the system. You can test with voltmeter to see if you are getting any voltage to the regulator.
