Does your high mount (third) brake light work? if it does then you probably have a wiring issue between the brake switch and the taillight assembly. follow the wires back from the taillights and see if you can find a splice block. with the car shut off (brake lights should work that way and it's safer to test things in a way that the car can't run you over while you do it) get somebody to depress the brake pedal and wiggle or tap on the splice block and see if lights come on. if they still won't then pull a bulb out and test for continuity between ground (pretty much any exposed chassis metal you can find, not through paint) and the part of socket that contacts base of bulb, that's ground side. if you have ground then test for 12 volts dc between power side of socket, part that contacts side of bulb, and ground. if you have two element bulb, like turn signals and brake lights in one bulb then you need to find 12 v in both places. should be easy in one place, you didn't say that your turn signals didn't work, will give you an idea what you need to do on brake side. hope that helps

try taking a wire brush to all the ground wire ports on your vehicule specialy the ones in the rear of the vehicule sometimes rusty ground wires make very bad connections. if so when you are done put some grease on them to avoid future rust. hope this coul help you.

I have a 2005 Dodge Durango. My brake lights are the only lights not working all 3. Every other light works but the 3 brake lights. I've changed the all 3 brake light bulbs and the brake light switch....

If fuse 25 under the hood is good, you have a wiring issue. Are you getting power at the brake light switch? If yes, trace the wires from there to he rear of the truck. If not, trace forward to the fuse.

Try this push down on brake pedal while you push in or wiggle the hazard switch. If the brake lights come on then that means you turn signal switch is faulty.

On my 2006 Dodge Grand Caravan the brake lights and back turn signals work fine. I changed the bulbs no luck. Any ideas

Thanks for choosing FixYa and welcome. Try checking your signal fuse and tail lamp fuse for the brake lights. They may have blown. If they are good, for the brake lights, you could have a bad brake switch, which is located right above your brake pedal. As for the turn signals, you could have a bad wire somewhere in the harness. Check closely at the bulb sockets. It is possible that you could have a loose wire at the signal switch or a bad wire.

Brake lights went out, changed bulbs, checked fuse, still wont work

You have to check the brake light switch which should be around the brake pedal on the upperside.
Ones located rremove the wires tht go to the switch and jump them by using a piece of wire, thn check if the brake lights come 'on'. If they do , thn its the switch tht may need replacing or even sometimes adjusting inorder to operate.
Hope this helps.

All brake lights suddenly stopped working changed bulbs park light fuse and cant find any blown fuses what else can it be

brake switch on the pedal bad.bad relay. do you have a second fuse box if so check it. look at the wiring see if it is frayed or chafed check the connections.check all the fuses not just the ones labeled brakes.switch the relay with one that you know is good like turn signal and see if the turn signal works then check brakes.use a 12 volt test light check the brake switch and probe the wires. hope this helped if not write back and i'll give you more ideas.

Mr cars brake lights have stopped working

I take it the bulbs are good.
Look under the drivers side dash at the brake pedal. You will need a torch. There is a brake switch there and it may need readjusting or replacing.
