Your owners service manual should tell you , most cars and trucks are around 80k for timing belts and I am not sure if it is a intererence. just remember when doing the timing belt do the tensioner and pulleys as well and water pump if driven by timing belt and all seals cam and crank. timing belts are one of the most important maint issue and most people dont until its to late after it has broke.

Does it have a non interferance engine

not sure but I will say this. most timing sets should be changed every 75 to 100k miles. its cheaper to change the belts and water pump then to pull the motor and spend thousands on 10 dollar bent valves

What mileage should the timing belts be change not showing any problems but itis a second hand car 1993

Manufacturers usually recommend between 50 000 to 60 000 mile between timing belt changes, although some are as low as 30 000 miles. It is the safest to contact the agents and find out what what the recommended belt life for your vehicle is. Belts seldom show any problem before just snapping and causing considerable and expensive damage.

I have a 2002 Saturn SL-2 with about 107,000 miles on it. At what mileage point should I replace the timing belt to make sure I don't wait too long for that?

Timing belts typically have a 60,000 mile changing interval meaning yours is now long overdue, if it has never been changed.

I own an '05 Altima 3.5L SL with 181K miles. The only maintenance ever performed on this car has been several brake jobs & changed the spark plugs. Does this car have a timing belt or chain that...

Follow your owners manaul, it has all the services needed according to mileage, of course if you havent been following the book, it doesnt do much good, and you are overdue for Coolant, Trans fluid/ filter, belts, filters, ect. Your car should have a timing chain.

What is mileage to replace a timing belt on a 2004 Avalon

Typically any timing belt replacement interval is 60k-75k miles. The book will however tell you 90k. Now it depends on what engine your Avalon came with. The 3.0 is a non interference engine meaning if it does snap, it will not cause any damage to your engine. The 3.5L engine however i dont know if its a interference engine or not but i dont see anywhere where it says it is. As always suggested, change your water pump as well, as it runs off the timing belt. Once i didnt change the water pump and a week later it locked up on me and ruined my perfect new timing belt. Truth be told :) lol

What service should be done on a 2000 new beetle that has 20,000 miles? If a timing belt fails will it total an engine as in a honda?

yes, it is an interference engine, so if the timing belt fails it blows the engine, but 20K is very early to worry about that. at that mileage, there shouldnt be too much to worry about other then maybe some fluids.

WHAT IS THE MILEAGE TO CHANGE TIMING BELT ON MY 2000 ELANTRA

Recommended at 60,000 miles, also that engine is an interference engine ( will bent valve if timing belt goes bad ).

Do I need to replace a timing belt or chaing?

Timing belt maintenance is extremely important! All Neon models utilize an interference-type, non-free-wheeling engine. If the timing belt breaks, the valves in the cylinder head may strike the pistons, causing potentially serious (also time-consuming and expensive) engine damage. The recommended replacement interval for the timing belt is 102,000 miles (163,000km), or sooner.

How often do I have to change the timing belt

On the 2L (4 cylinder) engine it is recommended to inspect the belt at 37200 miles and replace the belt at 56000 miles.

On the 2.7L (V6) it is recommended to replace the belt at 60000 miles.

And, both these engines are interference engines (meaning if they break a belt, pistons hit and bend valves) which is not a pretty sight...
