Driving and truck pulled hard to the right. stopped did not do it again.then truck seemed to lock up on frt right side.middle of rim smoking. help

The brake caliper locked down, check it to see ,get it to lock up,and open the bleeder screw on the caliper,if the caliper releases the rotor, replace the brake caliper hose,if it does not release, replace the caliper.

I own a 1991 dodge dakota truck i bought new caliber for the driver front now the cablier will not release how do i get it to release acts like the brakes are locking up what could be the problem

If you replaced the caliper because it was seized, maybe the flex hose was the problem, not the caliper. If the caliper releases when you open the bleeder screw,it is usually the flex hose.

2001 Dodge Dakota right front break keeps hanging up

this is caused by either the caliper piston seizing in its bore or the brake hose colapsing inside. remove the caliper and try to press the piston in with a c clamp. it should be very hard to move in according to your problem. now keep trying to press it in and crack the line at the caliper to allow some fluid to come out. if the piston moves now it is the line if not it is the caliper.

Front calibers keep locking up on my 96 dodge dakota 5.2

I would replace the rubber brake hoses at the calipers. They get damaged internally when the calipers are left hanging while replacing pads. I've seen too many garages and shops do it not knowing what is going on inside the hose.

1995 Dodge Dakota Calipers

check your fluids and bleed the brake system , if that is all the issues your having . if low on fluid and keeps draining out then you have whats known as a caliper seal broken and that means $30-50 bucks for a new one/rebuilt , i know i drove mine like that for a bit and had to replace the driver side.
