Question about 1992 Chevrolet Suburban
1992 Chevrolet Suburban 1500 with 5.7 with about 165,000 miles. Cranks fine and getting a strong fuel injection, but no spark. Replaced ignition coil and that did not help. Any suggestions?
About 1 week ago, it died (for the first time in 17 years) while idling. Then started right up the first try about 5 minutes later and no issues for 400 miles. Today it died (for the 2nd time) while doing about 30 mph. Have not been able to get it started since. Thanks. Chris
Did you try to get any DTC codes from the ECM. If not here is the procedure to retrieving the DTC codes. http://www.troublecodes.net/GM/ Check the fuses, make sure there all good. hope you find a DTC code which would help us find out what is wrong with the suburban quicker. Keep me posted and good luck, be glad to help you.

Check the spark module under the rotor in the distributor cap they will get dry of heatsink compound and over heat this will kill the vechile for sometime then it might start up when it cools or quit all together.
