Need to remove and replace the driver side door panel
I just purchased a 2000 Buick LaSaber the other day. Today, the driver window won't roll back up. I have had no problem with it until now. I was wondering on how to remove the driver side door panel, and put it back on afterwards, to see what the problem might be. The motor sounds like it's trying to roll it up and down, but it doesn't move. Thanks

Hello, and thank you for the opportunity to assist you. Here is the serpentine diagram for a 2000 LaSaber. The only engine size for that year was a 3.8 which I have always thought of as an all around great engine.

You will have to purchase a new handle assembly and replace the unit. Door interior must be removed to access the hardware for removal. Don't buy a cheap replacement it will only break sooner that the factory one. Basic tools and care when removing the door panel and connectors is needed. roll up window first. Good luck
FIRST YOU NEED TO REMOVE THE INSIDE PANEL. AFTER DOING THAT, WITH THE WINDOW ROLLED UP REMOVE 2 PLUGS ON THE METAL TO ACCESS THE TWO NUTS THAT HOLD ON THE OUTSIDE HANDLE. WHEN REMOVED, YOU CAN UNHOOK THE RODS THAT ACTUATE THE DOOR RELEASE. THE INSTALLATION IS THE REVERSE. I HOPE THIS HELPS. PLEASE FEEL FREE TO KEEP ME POSTED. THANKS FOR USING FIX-YA. ANY OTHER QUESTIONS, JUST ASK. GOOD LUCK
Hello, NO you don't have to disarm airbags for glass. You can pry off the door panel with big flathead screw driver. The panel is held on by plastic tabs that pry off and you can press them back on with fingers. Before prying off panel, you should pry off electric window button panel. Also remove any screws that are visible. Sometimes the arm rest has little plastic covers with screws underneath it. This is actually easier than it sounds. Just remove any visible screws, and pry it off and lift up and she'll come off.
is it electric windows? if it has electric windows does the passenger window roll up using the switch for it on the passenger door panel? if it works on the passenger door panel and not on the driver's door panel , then your switch on the drivers door panel is bad... replace it.
