2002 cadillac deville. We have replaced: Radiator, water pump, thermostat, cooling fan, coolling relay and still it overheats. I'm getting a cyclinder misfire on the code readout and no clue where to...

The cyl misfire is a clue. most likely you have head gasket leakage. Have a auto shop do a BLOCK-TEST it will test the cooling system for combustion gases.

Why does my cadillac 1998 deville keep overheating?

Overheating can be numerous things: Fans not working, water pump, thermostat, overflow cap, and the list keeps going. When the engine is running and heats ups, feel the heat of the top hose, if the hose isn't hot, the thermostat is most likely stuck open and needs replaced. If it is hot we know you have circulation. The cap on the expansion tank may be defective, if it can't hold the pressure of the water, it will release at the overflow cap if the cap is bad. Also check the coolant level.

Car overheating

there should be a cap some where but if not there should be some sort of hose coming out of the top of the radiator pull the hose and fill it up from there, and top it all the way off, make it spill, all the way full! and when an engine over heats it usually ruins the thermostat so i would recomend replacing it also

My retired uncle has a 97 cadillac deville sts that runs well but after a short distance or time idling begins to overheat. He has replaced the water pump, thermostat and had the radiator and head gasket checked. Unfortunately he lives in a rural area and there is no local cadillac dealership for diagnostic repairs.
