99 chevy tahoe has good fuel pressure and there is spark at the plugs. turns over but won't start. The vehicle also chugged and was sluggish after rain but it started and after 30mph would run fine

Its not even trying to turn over. Would the motor atleast try to fire over on one of the cylinders? I was wondering if it could be another problem like a crank sensor or map sensor keeping it from firing. So your suggesting a tune up with a new cap rotor plugs and wires. Thats good but im wondering if it will still not start after i do the tuneup?

Okay I changed the plugs wires cap and rotor. It still doesn't start. It cranks faster now, so im pretty sure it needed it anyway. I tested the wires im getting spark. My fuel pressure is at 60psi I dont understand why it isn't even trying to start? Does anyone have any suggestions?

    Check the Ignition Coil

Ignition Coils produce high voltage necessary to ignite air/fuel mixture in the combustion chamber.
When not replaced, vehicle could experience any of the following: no/hard start, long crank time, misfire, lack of power, inconsistent transmission shift points, spark plug fouling, catalytic converter failure, poor fuel economy, CEL/MIL illumination.

I have a 99 bravada starts up and idles fine when driving it will start chugging and lose power and pick up and do the same thing again and then it stalls out and have to restart. When trying to restart...

Could be an ignition problem or one of the relays.
When it fails to start, you'll need to figure out if you are missing fuel pressure or spark to the plugs.

2000 chevy tahoe z71 5.7 v-8 won't start. Turns over and fires but will not start. Check fuel pressure and it's 55 psi. WHat's next?

When you say it fires, are you checking for spark at the plugs ?
In most cases you have to figure out if it is spark, fuel, or compression to proceed. A mechanic would also check the computer for trouble codes but you would need a scanner or code reader to do that.

1997 chevy tahoe won't start replaced alot of parts like fuel pump, fuel filter, relay, rotor, distutor cap, cam sensor, spark plugs, and just can not figure out why it won't start and i'm

I am with Peter on this one. No diagnostics to this before replacing parts? Not that what you have done is a waste of time by any means but should have been diagnosed first. I assume it is turning over but just not getting gas is why you went the route of of the fuel supply. You could have saved a bit of time by having a fuel pressure test done which is what I think you still need to do here. Verify that the fuel is getting the the engine. That will for once and all confirm or eliminate your fuel problem. This test should not cost you more than 75.00. You can go to a parts store like ORielly and they will let you use a pressure tester for free. Hope this helps and I will keep checking for responses and help with what I can.

Ran 99 chevy express hot won't start even with a

Car not starting or turning over indicates towards multiple possibilities. It can be issue with battery or weak battery. But if battery checks out ok, then it can be starter issue or faulty alternator or problem with low fuel pressure or no spark at spark plugs due to dirty spark plugs or faulty ignition coil or injectors getting cracked or dirty and needs to be cleaned.

To confirm the problem, the basic troubleshooting is required.

Hello. My 1997 Chevy Tahoe refuses to start. The problems began with a bad fuel pump. I changed. It worked. The fuel pump died again. I changed it again and it has been working. I parked it for two weeks....

Now you have a good battery & a starter that turns over the motor

Have you cycled the key on & off with a fuel pressure gauge on the
fuel rail?

Do you have a fuel filter that isn't over 3 or 4 years old?

Have you checked for spark while cranking ? Use an old plug on the wires,
if you have ignition wires, don't ground the wire without resistance

If you removed the ducting & MAF Sensor it won't start

Tell us what you checked & exactly how that was done.

I have a '97 chevy tahoe. the engine cranks, but won't start. checked trouble codes & got cycliner misfire, O2 sensor, & catalytic converter codes. i've replaced plugs & wires. still won't...

first, check all the fuses
did you check to see if there's spark at spark plugs?
did you check the fuel pressure? you need to do that to isolate fuel and ignition system.
if there is no fuel then check for fuel pump operation
if there is no spark then check the ignition system (coil, module and wirings)
if you don't have either one then the problem is in the computer system such as crank sensor, and computer itself

Running rough and wants to die

Have the fuel pressure at the fuel rail checked. If you just want to throw parts at it: Fuel filter by the tank first. Fuel pressure regulator next. Order of ascending expense and likely hood. Does the fuel pump hum louder lately? The fuel pump may be on it's way out. It's not getting enough fuel to do anything but idle. Why that is takes some investigation. Somebody like Auto Zone may check your fuel pressure. If the fuel pressure is good, bad spark plug wires are the next guess. Lift the hood and run the engine in the dark (take the light bulb under the hood out if it still works to do this) If you see little lightening bolts traveling over the engine you need new plug wires. If the fuel pressure is good, the wires are good, change the spark plugs. Good Luck!

replace your MAP sensor(manifold absolute pressure) the map sensor is the computer for your fuel pressure regulator telling how much pressure. Unless your tahoe runs like **** going up hill than it inevitably your fuel pump
