I am not really sure if you have a autozone near you stop in there and if there is a special tool you need you can rent it from them and when you are done return and get your money back and they website is www.autozone.com and another one is www.alldatadiy.com to see if they have your car listed if they do you be able to get pictures and diagrams maybe showing you what tool you need.

Can someone tell me if the 2005 Mazda 6 2.0 diesel 136ps has a cambelt or chain? If it is a belt when should I replace it. I'm on 116000 km's.

Filipe, Gates is a timing belt manufacturer and they recommend changing belt every 100,000 KM. This is what is known as a interference fit engine, If the timing belt were to break, it could cause extensive damage to valve train. Through some searching, recommended Timing Belt change interval is 60/75000 miles or every 72 months. Check the attached links, instruction and guides, Good luck

Ignition switch

Hi,
sounds like the ignition switch isn't 'resetting' correctly. You'll likely need the dealer to fix the issue. Or you can try replacing the ignition cylinder, but usually requires special tools as it's 'secured' to prevent auto theft.

try the internet web sites for belt ,there are 2 types dependent on engine ,if you thinking of changing timing belt you will nee to order a special timing kit ,to hold crank and fly wheel ,i have changed one o a 2.5 crd engine ,takes about 7 hours ,the other 2 belts are easy to replace ,just remove air filter housing ,jack engine up remove engine mount ,pulley wheel for belt can be seen ,need a spanner to hold nut on pulley wheel, pull it up to remove,ac belt is stretch fit ,so just pull it over ,using a screw driver .hope this helps you .

How to fit strechy fan belt on ford focus 2006 model

It depends on what engine it has. On the 1.4/1.6 petrol engines a universal stretch belt tool will do it, the problem comes if it's got a separate belt for aircon as the crankshaft pulley has two sets of v grooves and it's difficult to force the larger inner belt over the crankshaft pulley as it keeps slipping off the water pump drive.
There is a special tool that fits to the water pump pulley that makes fitting easy but it is possible to do it without it by using a lever between the chassis rail and the water pump to stop the belt coming off the side radius of the pulley. The aircon belt is easy using the universal fitting tool. It is possible to use brute force with screwdrivers but will normally damage the belts and a cheap fitting tool can be brought to actually save money and aggro !

How long to replace a timing belt on 98 MPV 3.0 V-6 and do the valves get damage when it breaks. Can I do this at home or does it call for special tools. Thank You, Steve

I dont think you should attempt this. I dont think it will have bent valves. When you replace the belt, replace the water pump and ALL the pulleys (2) , and tensioner pulley and spacer , all the oil seals. no special tools are involved, but you need to know what you are doing.

How do I change the oil filter on a MAZDA 6 4 CYL..

You don't need a special tool. Use a 6mm allen to remove the filter drain plug. It will probably start to spin the filter housing. You can remove the housing by hand or with a regular oil filter wrench.
