Question about 2007 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon 2 Doors

2007 Jeep Wrangler will not start

All gauges light up with not start. The problem started a few days ago with a slow clicking before starting. It did not happen every time. Now nothing. Checked the battery. Cleaned all post. Wired around the aftermarket theft plug. Pulling fender to start towards starter. Any other options?

The problem was located at the solenoid. The wire that slides over a post had worked itself loose or was never installed proper. Pushed wire back onto post and engine started.

This is common on 2007 & 2008 automatics.
The brake pedal interlock does. It always release when you put it into Park/Shutdown/ Get out.
If you put it into Nuetral it should start right up.
I often just jiggle the automatic shifter firmly, and it will start right up.

First I would ask a friend to tow you to the auto parts store, and yes it sounds like you need a new starter. When the starter kept running it is because the bendix was stuck engaged. When you shut the jeep off and it would not turn over it is becuase the starter is fried. That happens with electrical componants.

Starting/Alternator Gauge problems

It maybe as simple as corroded battery terminals. Somtimes they corrode between the post and the terminal itself. When you run light loads there is enough current passing through. When you crank the engine however, the large current flow will not pass. When you jump the car the clamps are biting on the outside of the terminal and current flows easy. Simply clean or replace the terminals and clean the posts as well to a silver shine and the trouble may go away
