You need to be more specific. Where does the loud vibration seem to come from? Front, back, under hood, left, right, trunk, spouse, etc.

Okay, let's try this; if it's from the engine compartment with the car running, lift the hood with the motor on. Do you hear it? Don't put your hands in there if you're not familiar with engines. Lean in a bit and you might get a clue. Turn the air conditioning on and off and see if that makes a difference. (that might indicate the air compressor) which is expensive. Most of these things are driven by a belt and it could be an alternator, a water pump, or something as simple as an idler pulley. The idler pulley is a little wheel that doesn't seem to do anything but spin (it keeps tension on the belt). I assume now that you're not underway. If this noise occurs only while you're moving it might point to a wheel bearing which can vibrate and be noisy. Usually more-so at low speed. It could be a bearing where the propeller shafts (which drives the wheels) exit the transmission. You need to have a technician listen to this car. It'll help you decide what to do and he can give you an estimate, If it's a significant amount, get it in writing. Good luck.

I would be leary about just replacing the ecu.especially if you can disconnect it and ir runs fine. Did they tell you what error messages there were? This would be helpful to know

My car vibrates causing this loud hum while

Hi:
;You most likely have a wheel bearling or hub assembly that is bad. You should be able to narrow the hum down to one side or the other. Other possibilities are a noisy engine accessory, such as a bad bearing on a alternator, or power steering pump, but you should be able to make that noise show up, just by rev ving up the engine, so if it only shows up when the car is moving, check out your wheel bearings.

Loud noise and vibration in the hole car when driving especially

By the sound of what your saying i think the easiest and cheapest thing is to check the driveshaft. Besure to check the uni's. You may not see any problem with it if this is the case remove it and check the yoke of the gearbox & diff if these are ok take the driveshaft in in the shop to be rebalanced.
