You are able to see it when you turn the key to on position without starting the car on the dashboard, if no light shows there no ABS on your ZX2.

If he can't tell then I personaly wouldn't use him. But that is my opinion. ABS is model dependant and I believe yours does have ABS.

2000 escort abs is engaging everytime the brakes are depressed, then the abs light cones on then the brakes work normally, with out abs . Thanks joe

Joe, check the brakes. This happens when cylinders or pistons freeze and you are actually only braking with partial brakes being applied, which leads to lock up, which invokes ABS.

Look for damaged or worn abs sensor wires at the wheels. Also, metal flakes sometimes alter input singals.

Abs light keeps coming on what do I do is my breaks bad or not please help I need to know. Thanks

You proberly have a bad wheel sensor that is causing the problem. When this light is one, you don't have the ABS braking feature in operation. You should have brakes, just not ABS. ABS braks are a saftey feature that helps prevent wheel skids on slippery roads.

Spongy brake pedal on 2003 Frod escort zx2.

loosen of the hand-brake adjustment and press the brake pedal a few times to self adjust the rear brakes.
Re-tighten the handbrake adj last.
Front brake sounds like a seized caliper,If possible remove caliper and clean and lubricate the piston.
This may work but replacement caliper may be the only other solution.Make sure the caliper slides are also clean and lubricated and the brake pads are in good order.(TRY THIS FIRST)
Also new brake shoes can make the pedal feel spongy for a couple of hundred miles until they have been run in.

ABS light on 1999 Fored Expedition

There is a problem with the ABS (Anti-Lock Brakes). Unless you have the knowledge to diagnose and repair this problem I suggest you seek help from a trusted mechanic or your Volvo dealer. Your ABS may not be working correctly but your normal brakes will still work.

Instructions to change the brakes

look for 2 bolts or pins that go right thru the calipers, they actually retain the pads, normally the heads will be on the back side of the caliper. take them out, there may be thin metal clips (springy) on top of the pads. remove them too. slide out pads working the caliper back and forth to loosen them up. open up fluid resevoir then with a large screwdriver push the brake piston back so as to be able to get new pads it, bolt it all back and your are done.

I need to bleed my brakes on a 1999 ford escot zx2 where is the bleeder at

Its not really a bleed/ What you need is someone in the car pressing on the barkes pumping the brakes then holding them down tighten the calipers and do it over and over till you get the pad on the rotor and it usually takes 3-4 times for the brake pad to set itself/ Please ratemy repsonse thank you very much
