The 700R4 is controlled by vacuum lines and throttle cable kick down linkage (TV) and need to be re calibrated to the engine as to being 4.3 or 5.0 to 5.7. Best thing to do is to get a transmission shop that knows how to custom install transmission like a speed shop. The TV cable adjustment on the 700R4 needs to be perfect. TV cable is used to set part throttle shift points, line pressure and if not set right will burn up the clutch plates due to low line pressure. Good luck and hope this helps. you going to need tools that most of us don't have, like to be able to measure and adjust the line pressure at different RPM. If you need more information, keep me posted and be glad to help.

Sorry no, the 4L60E is electronically controlled by the ECM. The transmission has electric solenoid to shift the gears which is controlled by the ECM which get's readings from the TPS, CKS and CMS. The transmission's shift points and fluid pressure is also controlled by the ECM.

The 700R4 is controlled by the TV cable from the throttle body or carb and through Vacuum pressure which needs to be set buy a really good transmission shop. It need to be near perfect or the transmission will burn it self up as to why GM went with the 4L60E around the late 1990 and that's is why most will swap transmission in to hot rods with the old 3 speed 350 or 400 turbo transmission.

Good luck and keep me posted

The engine will match up but the sensor plugs may not so you may have to swap the sensors between the engines.

I have a 1994 GMC Jimmy 4.3 vortec 4x4 automatic, and the transmission started to slip, then the battery died, we got it home and it wouldn't start, so we charged the battery and it ran fine for abou

You may potentially have an serious electrical drain in your car circuits. The drain is slow and continuous, draining your battery charge even if you do a start. Check the cabling and look for load on your battery with a Volt meter to check for any charge drainage. Check this as a precaution before replacing any more parts.

Were is the fuel pressure regulator located on my vehicle? Is there a picture or a diagram? 1994 GMC Jimmy 4.3 Vortec

the fuel pressure regulator is located inside the intake. you have to remove the upper intake to access the regulator. the black plastic intake is what you need to remove.
